A handful of advice for a foreigner at UITM This year will not be easy for you, because the dozen or so years that you spent behind the school bench will change and now you have opened the door for a new, independent life. The ongoing globalization as well as political and economic changes in the world contribute to the increasing educational migration of young people from around the world. Many of them come to Poland from the East - from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Here in Poland, the market of colleges and universities is huge, and a large part of them is near the eastern border. One of them - open to foreigners - is the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów, which ranks second in Poland in terms of the number of students coming from abroad. This is also an opportunity for Poles who can learn about other cultures, make friends that can result in joint initiatives and ideas in the future. In today’s world, international cooperation is highly valued, and UITM is the perfect place to take the first step towards such activity.
I can say from my own experience that UITM is a university of dreams for students from outside Poland. At the very beginning, remember that you are an international now. You have stood on a road where you will probably encounter many misunderstandings, puzzles, questions and even problems. You need to be aware of it, prepare yourself, and even better to know what, how and where to do or ... what not to do. In case of problems, doubts and moments of weakness, you have two places where you will always find support: Adaptation clinic at the Institute for Research on Civilizations (ht tp://w w w.c y wilizacje.pl/ar ticle_ adaptation_clinic_) Adaptation of Students from the East, contact: sslusarczuk@wsiz.rzeszow.pl
