The Joe LeBlanc Food Pantry will be hosting their Fourth Annual Drive Out Hunger Golf Tournament this Saturday at the Pine Hills Country Club. This is just one of the annual fundraising events that the food pantry puts on in order to get the support required to keep serving the community of Webster Parish.

“Any funds raised from the tournament go into our operational budget w h i c h helps us purchase the food that we give out LEWIS at distribution. It goes right back into the community to help the people that we serve. Be-

sides grants and private donations, we have this big fundraiser every year to get the funds we need, so it’s pretty important to make sure that it’s successful,” said Jessica Lewis, Director at Joe LeBlanc Food Pantry. The entry fee will cover both breakfast and lunch for those competing, and it will be catered by Little’s Rod and Black Pot this year. The title sponsor for the

event is Paul Gray International Ministries. Team registration is $150 for a two-person team and tee time is at 8 a.m. on August 24. They will be accepting registrations until the tournament begins. If they have 15 teams or more they will double-flight the tournament, and there will be a cash payout for each flight. The cash payout is See, GOLF, Page 2

On Tuesday the Springhill Police Department and Louisiana State Probation and Parole arrested four individuals in Springhill on drug warrants. According to a press release from the Springhill Police Department, the first person arrested was Brittany Edgett of Hickory St. She was found at her residence and was arrested for three counts of dDistribution of schedule II controlled dangerous substance (Methamphetamine). Her bond was set at $150,000. The second person arrested was Margaret Mangum. Mangum was arrested at her residence on Williams St. for distribution of schedule I controlled dangerous sub-

stance (Marijuana). Her bond was set at $10,000. The third was Lynn M. Oglee. Contact was made with her at her place of business and she was asked to come to the Springhill Police Department. Once at the Springhill PD she was advised of the two warrants for distribution of schedule II controlled dangerous substance (Methamphetamine) and arrested. Her bond was set at $100,000. The fourth was Kevin Hubbard. Officers went to his residence on Porterville Rd in Sarepta but was unable to make contact with him. His father informed officers that he had gone to the hospital in Springhill. Officers made their way to Springhill Medical Center and passed Hubbard in his vehicle on the way leaving the hospital. A traffic stop was conducted and Hubbard was taken into custody for two counts of distribution of schedule II controlled dangerous substance (Methamphetamine). His bond was set at $100,000.
