THE CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE Dynamic and engaging, the Presentation classroom experience embraces active learning through creative teaching, cutting-edge technology and student interaction.

Smart Classrooms Classrooms at Presentation are designed with innovation and collaboration in mind. Every classroom at Presentation is equipped with state-of-the-art learning technology including overhead digital projectors with dedicated Apple TVs. Classrooms also have comfortable mobile desks and chairs allowing for greater interaction and engagement among students.

1:1 iPad Program At Presentation, the iPad is at the center of the educational experience, allowing teachers to engage with and enhance student learning and collaboration through technology. All students receive a school-issued iPad Pro with a keyboard and Apple pencil for use in the classroom and at home. Each iPad is fully loaded with the latest education-based apps including Notability, Google Drive,Google Chrome, PowerSchool and Schoology.

Block Schedule The classroom experience at Presentation is enhanced by our block schedule, in which three to four 85-minute classes are held daily on rotating “Gold” Days and “Blue” Days. We find the block schedule supports different learning styles by allowing time for meaningful lectures, large and small group activities and interactive discussions. With classes meeting every other day, students have more time to learn subjects in depth. Students also have two days to complete their homework.

Collaboration Period “Blue” Days feature a floating 85-minute long collaboration period, a time when teachers are available to provide extra help to students, offer study sessions or administer make-up tests and quizzes. Students may also use this time to get ahead on their homework or work with other students on group projects. Typically held at the end of the day, collaboration periods also allow student-athletes and members of student groups to travel and participate fully in extra-curricular activities by minimizing missed class time.
