Our cruise showcases the gorgeous wild-ness of the Horizontal Falls and the Buccaneer Archipelago - a place described by Sir David Attenborough as ‘an Australian natural wonder’ and one that very few people get to visit. That’s because the only way you could experience this jaw-dropping destination was by seaplane or as part of a multi-day cruise itinerary-until now.

Reaching Lalang-garram (the Horizontal Falls) in a single day, Kimberley Day Cruise’s vessel Ohana - a recipient of the 2015 Ausmarine Shipbuilding Awards, has been carefully refurbished with custom modifications that exceed Australian Marine Safety Standards and enable the highest quality customer experience.

The 23.5m vessel was purchased by Kimberley Day Cruise in 2021. Identified for its superior engineering and a cruising speed that would enable a round trip tour to the

Horizontal Falls in a single day, The Ohana offers excellent stability and reaches an impressive cruising speed of 21 knots.

The Ohana has been completely remodelled with a contemporary open kitchen and bar - to allow our professional hospitality team to provide an exceptional dining service on the high-seas.

We’ve installed full back, extra wide seating - in elegant cream marine leather, placed around shared group tables catering for up to 8 guests. The large, shaded awning covers the dining deck, with 270-degree views over the Kimberley Coast when seated.

In one of two zodiacs, you’ll venture up close and feel the awesome tidal power of Lalang-garram (the Horizontal Falls) while being expertly guided through the azure blue swirling waters of Talbot Bay. To safely manage one of the largest tidal changes in the world, The Ohana is fitted with the latest technology in marine satellite communication and navigation. Our tender ride will take you up close to the entrance of the wide Gap. We do not pass through due to safety and cultural reasons. Moving with the tidal whirls and eddies, the tenders explore cyclone creek and the ancient sandstone cliffs. The folding of tectonic plates and majestic ancient stone monoliths highlights the incredible colours of the Kimberley.

Ensuring Kimberley Day Cruise makes the top of your bucket list, we have paired a 7-course sustainably sourced local seafood menu with some of the most magnificent marine environs on earth. And while you’re being wined and dined onboard The Ohana, it's very possible you’ll also glimpse migrating humpback whales, playful reef sharks, dugongs, dolphins and turtles against the changing Kimberley light of your journey home. Guests are free to wander around the deck, spotting marine and bird wildlife at leisure or chat with one of our knowledgeable guides who ensure your every need is taken care of.
