Dear Brangus Friends,

I would like to welcome everyone to the Southeast Brangus Breeders Association Showcase Sale. We have a great selection of young cattle this year that are up-and-coming superstars in the Brangus breed. We will have several bred and open prospects. We will also have a few Herd Sire Prospects as well.

As you know, the Southeast has some of the top genetics and producers of Brangus cattle. This sale gives us as breeders the opportunity to “Show Off” our cattle.

I would like to thank all the consignors who helped make this sale successful. This is the best set of animals I’ve seen to date. Take advantage of this offering and help propel your program into the future.

Don’t forget the SBBA Junior show will be on Friday, please show your support by visiting the show and see how much their hard work is helping make the Brangus breed prosper.

Plan to attend our SBBA Awards Banquet on Friday evening for great food, fun and fellowship. Please remember to bring items for the Fun Auction to help raise funds for our association.

If I can help with anything, please give me or Chris Heptinstall a call. We will be glad to help or answer any questions you may have.

Looking forward to seeing you in Dothan!

Sincerely,

770-289-6539

Welcome to the 2025 Southeast Brangus Breeders “Showcase Sale”

It is our pleasure to be back at the National Peanut Festival in Dothan, Alabama. We are excited to have the Southeast Junior Brangus Breeders Association show and our annual Fun Auction and Banquet all on campus at the Peanut Festival.

You will see, while perusing this catalog, that we have a few fewer lots, but where we lack in quantity, we sure make up for in quality! You will find flushes from some of the most respected donors in the breed in A5051 and 30G3, frozen genetics from the toptier donors in Brangus, and fresh genetics in the young open and bred heifers. The consignors really reached deep into their herds to “Showcase” the quality in the Southeast!

Please come out and join us for the Junior Show. Enjoy the banquet and fun auction. Then bid your conscience on the quality genetics represented by the Breeders of the SBBA.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call, text, or email.

Sincerely, Christopher G. Heptinstall

THE 2025 SOUTHEAST BRANGUS BREEDERS ASSOCIATION

SHOWCASE SALE IS DEDICATED TO DOUG AND BELINDA CHENEY OWNERS OF CHENEY FARM

THE STORY OF DOUG AND BELINDA CHENEY IS ONE OF DEDICATION AND COMMITMENT TO THE ART OF CATTLE RANCHING. For 40 years, they have built a life centered around their family and their passion for raising cattle. Their journey took a significant turn in 2005 when they assumed control of their family's commercial cattle operation in O'Brien, Florida. This transition not only honored their family's legacy but also allowed them to explore new avenues for growth and innovation in the cattle industry.

Joining the International Brangus Breeders Association (IBBA) and the Southeastern Brangus Breeders Association (SBBA) in 2007 marked a pivotal moment for the Cheneys. They found a welcoming community among fellow breeders, including Johnny and Donna Vines and David and Susan Vaughan. This sense of belonging has been crucial in fostering their development as ranchers and has provided them with valuable support and resources. The camaraderie within the Brangus community has undoubtedly enriched their ranching experience.

The recognition they received with the SBBA Award of Excellence in 2019 underscores their significant contributions to the Brangus community. This award is not just a reflection of their hard work but also a testament to their leadership and integrity. Doug and Belinda have become role models for others in the industry, demonstrating that success in cattle ranching is built on a foundation of stewardship and a strong sense of community spirit.

Today, managing 120 head of commercial and registered Brangus cattle, the Cheneys continue to exemplify excellence in Florida cattle ranching. Their journey illustrates the importance of tradition while embracing modern practices, ensuring that they not only maintain their family's legacy but also contribute positively to the future of the cattle industry. Doug and Belinda Cheney's story is a powerful reminder of the impact that dedication and community can have in any field.

About the Cheneys!

The SBBA has been truly blessed, from its inception, to have members who are willing to step up, give of their time and talents, and enable our association to not only survive but to thrive. I feel that Belinda and Doug Cheney are two such members.

Raising commercial cattle, they became interested in the Brangus Breed, joined the IBBA, and have been breeding Brangus since 2007. It is always a pleasure to see them and enjoy their company at events, sales and field days.

When the SBBA Junior Show was revived many years ago, they were an integral part of its success. Doug brought and set up Cheney Farm's panels for the show, and Belinda arranged the show-day lunches. As time moved on, Belinda became active with the SBBA banquet and organized everything after it was moved to the Fairgrounds. Doug willingly assisted wherever needed during the SBBA Female Sale and the Uniontown Bull Sale. For several years, Doug served as SBBA sale chairman, and during that time Belinda handled all the administrative details for the two SBBA sponsored sales. It is a tremendous responsibility and they provided a wonderful service for us members. Doug has also served as a director and vice president for the SBBA.
