25 YEARS OF ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE SILVER JUBILEE YEAR 2019

Indira Group of Institutes (IGI) journey started way back in 1994 with humble beginning of one institute & four classrooms. Today, with the charismatic leadership of Dr. Tarita Shankar – Chairperson, coupled with the dynamism and relentless efforts of Prof. Chetan Wakalkar – Group Director, IGI have acquired the status of one of the most preferred educational institutes in Pune. IGI is present across the education spectrum of KG to PhD and it is increasingly becoming popular among students desirous of studying in Management, Commerce & Science, Architecture, and Engineering. Currently, more than 10000 students are studying in IGI in different programs. With each passing year, IGI has created new bench mark of excellence in education. All our approaches to education are driven by our belief that students are the future of this country and hence they should be provided holistic education to not only excel in their chosen profession but also turn into very good human beings. With rapid industrialisation and globalisation, the economy is throwing more and newer challenges. To add to the complexity, technology is evolving at a break neck speed. Therefore, it is incumbent on the modern business managers to transcend the conventional thinking and come out with solutions which are optimal for all the stake holders in business. We at IGI have always believed in inculcating the right values in the future business leaders so that they not only add immense value to the organisations but also contribute to a fair, equitable and balanced world order.

Indira Institute of Management, Pune (IIMP) is the agship institute of IGI. It is the very rst management institute in Pune and third in Maharashtra to be accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) of AICTE, New Delhi for MBA course. It is re-accredited for the third time up to 2019. The recent grant of autonomy for its MBA programme is yet another feather to IIMP’s cap. Teachers are the backbone of an educational institute. IIMP has a galaxy of distinguished faculty members with rich industry experience. The faculty members are trained to use diversied pedagogies (case study method, eld assignment, role plays etc) to bring out the best in each and every student coming from different parts of the country. Faculty mentors assigned to students act as a catalyst to their learning from different activities organised inside and outside the campus. In addition to the domestic industrial visits, IIMP organises international study tours for giving cross country exposure to the budding business managers. All this is because- IGI believes in nothing less than excellence. Notwithstanding, the tremendous strides made in last 25 years, IGI is not going to rest on the laurels. It is determined to scale even newer heights and continue to work assiduously as a catalyst to let the youth realise their dreams and make the planet a better place to live, because for IGI, excellence is not a destination rather a journey. FROM THE CHAIRPERSON’S DESK

As we embark our 25th year, many emotional thoughts cloud my mind. I was a young lady with a secure job with a multinational company when I made a courageous decision to step out of my comfort zone with the strength of character to venture into an unknown eld in the world of education. I was clear from the very beginning that harmonious and healthy society can only be based on an educated populace. “Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.” -Albert Einstein We decided that we would fulll this need by creating an Institute with a high standard of excellence through professional competence. Quality being the bottom line for us, in the last 25 years, through great teamwork we have and will continue to sculpt the students into competitive, empathetic, optimistic individuals who will strive to succeed in every challenge they are faced with and ultimately can contribute to the betterment of the society and nation. Education has unbelievable power which helps one in making self-dependent and provides new possibilities and opportunities to become a problem solver and excellent decision maker. Now is the time for us to get creative, innovative and re-calibrate our approach towards education and help the students create valuable lifelong learning experiences for themselves. The Indira group has proven itself as a vibrant and stellar institution in the eld of professional education and research. As we have entered into our Silver Jubilee Year, we hold our heads high and with renewed energy pledge that we will continue our journey of imparting quality education which will have a lasting impact on the generations to come. “Legacy is not leaving something for people. It’s leaving something in people.” -Peter Strople

I wish you the very best for future! Dr. Tarita Shankar Chairperson, Indira Group of Institutes, Pune
