San Diego

Local Highlights

Adventure

The city of endless summers features nearly pristine weather year-round, making it ideal for outdoor excursions. Boasting 70 miles of coastline, PGA Golf Courses, a growing wine country, and iconic “only-inSan Diego” spots, there is something to do for everyone!

Food + Breweries

San Diego is the most important craft beer city in the U.S. No joke: local beer in San Diego County generates over 1 Billion dollars a year, and our annual awards total surpasses most states. The San Diego style of big bold beers defined the second generation of the American Craft Beer movement, and our local community pioneered much of what is now recognized in the American Craft Beer Culture.

With a mural on every corner, San Diego has various types of art medias to experience. Visit our 17 museums devoted to anthropology, art, aviation, natural science and technology that are spread throughout the pristine gardens and historic Spanish Colonial architecture in Balboa Park.

Support Our Troops

The Tour and Catered Event (TCE) Program at MCAS Miramar is a program within the Marine Corp Community Service (MCCS) Department. MCCS is a not-for-profit organization within the United States Marine Corps. MCCS supports the “quality of life” programs onboard the base. These programs are many and diverse. The following is a partial list of the programs and facilities supported by MCCS: Athletics Facilities, Clubs, Golf Course, Theater, Stables, Library, Career Resource Center, Counseling Center, Education Center, Teen Center, Youth Center, Family Counseling, Health Promotion, Key Volunteer Program, New Parent Support Group, Personal Finance Management, and Single Marine Program.

All TCE revenue, over and above operating costs, goes back to MCCS to support those quality-of-life programs not funded by tax dollars.

Groups that choose to host an event at MCAS Miramar, directly benefit the Marines onboard the base.
