Windsor boasts 9 college signees BY JADYN WATSON-FISHER Windsor High School has nine signees who will continue their athletic careers at a college or university after graduation. It has the most out of the other schools in the Greeley Tribune’s coverage area. Several students have already signed their National Letters of Intent to participate at various institutions. The regular signing period for Division I football began Feb. 12 on National Signing Day. Some, however, inked their commitments in the fall. Athletes who are competing in Division I or Division II sports other than basketball or football have been allowed to sign at any point since Nov. 13, 2019. Here are Windsor’s college-bound student athletes:
WYETT EKELER, FOOTBALL Wyett Ekeler signed his NLI on Dec. 18 to play for the University of Wyoming. He was the 4A Northern Colorado Player of the Year. The senior rushed for 1,435 yards on 146 carries for 22 touchdowns. Ekeler also logged 218 yards on kick returns. He is the brother of former Eaton High School standout and Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler.
TYLER SHIELDS, FOOTBALL Tyler Shields signed to play at Colorado Mesa last week. Shields recorded 570 rushing 6|

yards and seven touchdowns in his varsity career. Shields had 301 yards and three TDs his senior year before a knee injury prematurely ended his final season.

BRADY BOHLINGER, FOOTBALL
ELLIE GARRETT, VOLLEYBALL
Brady Bohlinger committed in early February to join the Wyoming football program. He finished his career at Windsor with 203 total tackles, including 104 solo. He also recorded eight tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. Bohlinger was named an All-Conference First Team member and All-State Second Team member his senior year.
Ellie Garrett will play at Eastern Washington in the fall. Garrett was named to the Tri-Valley League All-Conference First Team. She was an honorable mention selection her freshman year and Tri-Valley Athlete of the Year her sophomore season. Garrett has previously made the USA Volleyball Junior National Championships All-Tournament team.
ISAIAH SALAZAR, WRESTLING Isaiah Salazar (182) signed in the fall to continue his career at Minnesota. He has won three state titles and is working toward a fourth, like Greeley Central’s Andrew Alirez accomplished in 2019. Salazar is 135-6 through his most recent victory against Logan Staatz of Roosevelt.
DOMINICK SERRANO, WRESTLING Like Salazar, Dominick Serrano (133) signed last fall to wrestle at Nebraska. He has three state titles in three years and is also on track to earn a fourth. Serrano is 134-0 through his most recent match against Roosevelt’s Shug Cantu.

GABRIELLE HERTZKE, VOLLEYBALL Gabrielle Hertzke signed to play at Colorado Northwestern Community College in November. She was second on the Windsor team in kills (159), third in blocks (28), fourth in digs (196) and fourth in receptions (251). Hertzke was also named to the Tri-Valley League All-Conference First Team in 2019.
PARKER GONSER, TRACK AND FIELD Parks Gonser will continue his track and field career at Chadron State College in Nebraska. He finished the 2019 season with a discus title and second place shot put finish at the league championship last year. GREELEY TRIBUNE FILE PHOTOS
