Add Grenadine to glass and add ice

You’ve seen notices on the Art Studio door noting when instructors are available for Open Studio hours this summer. Continue checking for our adjusted summer hours.
Alice Lieb (Acrylics and Oil) is going to Allentown to watch her granddaughter compete in the National Ultimate Speed Frisbee Tournament.
Sibyl McNulty (Art Appreciation, Collage, Zentangle) is excited her children and grandchildren are visiting for a week. They will do lots of hiking, eating and visiting museums.
Judy Wenning (Watercolor) is taking the entire summer off from painting and will be visiting her daughter in New England.
Karen Glass (Maker Space) plans to visit her children in Washington, D.C., as well as go back to her roots in the Adirondacks for a visit.
Donna Billings (Watercolor) and River (the therapy dog) will be learning how to put together her new Oru kayak and practicing for a week-long kayaking trip in the San Juan Archipelago islands.

The Wonders of America’s State Parks
July 7
Georgia and Carolina Islands: Lost in Time
There’s a great wealth of history and culture in the barrier islands of Georgia and North Carolina. I’m sure many of you have vacationed in the Outer Banks and have possibly visited some of these sites.
Southern Appalachian Peaks and Valleys
There are historic forts and scenic wonders, like Fort Mountain in Georgia and South Carolina’s Mountain Ridge.
Dick Wagner (Perspective Drawing) will be around all summer. He is excited that after three years, he finally has a garden and will be spending lots of time with his tomatoes and herbs.
Marcia Brackin (Pastels) plans to organize and/or discard 60+ years of photos. Her children gave her two years to do this, and her time is almost up.
In July, we will host an instructor inservice workshop to help us design and facilitate a new, creative arts series of workshops and classes that will be tailored to our residents.

The Florida Keys, Tropical Paradise Parks
So, what’s so special about the state parks in the Florida Keys? Today, we will learn about Bahia Hondo, Curry Hammock and an underwater archaeological state park.
West Texas: Where the West is Still Wild
Horseback riding seems to be the way to visit Palo Duro Canyon and the Big Bend Ranch.

Adventures in the Ozarks and Ouachita
The Ozarks aren’t very tall, but there are a variety of areas to explore, like the Ozark Folk Center State Park and lakes and caves.
State Parks Along the Mississippi
We travel from the northern Mississippi River at Itasca State Park in Minnesota to Kentucky, and end at Rosedown Plantation in Louisiana.

Presidential Parks in the Land of Lincoln
President Lincoln’s early years will be explored through the state parks, along with one for James Audubon, the naturalist.
The Great Lakes: Back from the Brink
The state parks around the Great Lakes have recently improved. We will visit Mackinac Island in Michigan, the Indiana Dunes near Chicago and South Bass Island in the Lake Erie Archipelago.

It is that time again! Your bus will take you to the premiere market in the area. The departments represented this year are as follows: bake sale, books, clothing, crafts, electronics, equipment, furniture, garden center, holiday, household, jewelry/antiques, linens, picture frames, purses, socks, toys and more. The sale area is completely accessible. Please join us for a few hours of great shopping and fellowship! Call the registration line to reserve your seat.

Travel to the Greater Pittsburgh Masonic Center for a delicious breakfast. All are welcome to enjoy scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, French toast and much more. Served by and benefits members of local PA Rainbow Assemblies and DeMolay Chapters. Sign up by calling the registration line by July 24.
