Mindy Ross, of Hummelstown’s DanceSport Ballroom, will lead this 50-minute beginner workshop in slow freestyle dancing. Mindy has taught ballroom, Latin, wedding and freestyle classes for 16 years. She loves introducing new dancers to the joy of dancing, as well as helping experienced dancers continue to learn and fine tune their technique. This workshop is open to residents, employees and community members interested in slow dancing beyond the “stand and sway” motion. The historic Ringgold Band, located in Reading, is one of America’s first community bands. Ever since its formation in 1852, the band has continued a longstanding tradition of providing southeastern Pennsylvania with fine musical entertainment. Their diverse concerts include familiar classics, challenging new works, symphonic overtures, show tunes, marches and more. Charles Ebersole, band director, is a native of Lancaster County and has enjoyed an active career teaching and conducting.

Directed by Jim Milbrand, the group consists of former students, musicians who reside in Lower Paxton Township and its surrounding communities and middle and high school student musicians. The band’s arrangements are mostly authentic “record” copies of original artists, making the band a local favorite and one of the only jazz big bands in the area. The Baird Wellness Center offers an array of cardiovascular and strength equipment, functional training, personal training and group fitness classes. Massage therapy and wellness workshops on mind, body and spirit are also offered.

The tour begins with a walking wine poured into a souvenir glass and a brief history. A short outdoor walk leads to the Brewery’s Upper Deck overlooking a 40acre farm. After the tour, return to the tasting room for your choice of a dry or sweet wine flight consisting of four samples. As the autumn HARVEST begins, let’s get moving and HUSTLE together! Join your fellow Masonic Village community members for a 3-mile run/walk around our beautiful Elizabethtown campus.
There is NO COST to participate in the race. All participants will receive a custom designed T-shirt and other goodies at packet pick up on Sept. 25 and 26, between 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., at the Baird Wellness Center. Refreshments and post-event snacks will be provided.
Never ran or walked in a race before? We are offering an 8-Week Race Training Program for walkers and runners. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned runner or walker, we have a program tailored for your success!
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for the run and walk. Raffle prizes will be drawn at the end of the race for all participants.
Pre-registration is required through the Baird Wellness Center before Aug. 1. There is NO day-of registration.
Who: Open to all Masonic Village residents, employees, employee spouses, employee dependents age 14+, retirees and retiree spouses. Please note: For safety reasons, children under 14, strollers and animals are not permitted. When: Saturday, Sept. 27; event begins promptly at 9 am.
Where: The run/walk starts and finishes at the Veterans Grove near the picnic pavilion.

The Hiking Club is off to Pine Grove Furnace State Park. Meet at 8 a.m. at the fountain in the rear of the Freemasons Cultural Center parking lot to carpool. Travel time to the park is approximately one hour. Please bring a water bottle, hiking poles (optional), raincoat, sunblock and a snack.
At the park, we will hike 0.75 miles on the Pole Steeple Trail to Pole Steeple. We will then hike back to the Pine Grove Furnace State Park on the Appalachian Trail for a total distance of 5 miles. A shorter option will be available. We will have an opportunity to visit the Appalachian Trail Museum, which includes an historic trail shelter and artifacts that belonged to other hiking pioneers such as Grandma Gatewood, Earl Schaffer (the first person to thru-hike the trail), Gene Espy and Ed Garvey. Following lunch at the camp store, we will return to Masonic Village mid-afternoon.
