THE HISTORY OF SRO

For the past three decades, SRO Motorsports Group has been a driving force behind global GT racing. Under the leadership of founder and CEO Stéphane Ratel, SRO has shaped the landscape of modern GT competition, forging a unified vision that continues to elevate the sport to new heights year after year. From its pioneering efforts in the 1990s to its exponential expansion in the 21st century, SRO has consistently adapted to the evolving demands of motorsports while staying true to its core mission: promoting production-based GT racing.

In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the rapid rise of prototype racing overshadowed GT competition, sidelining production-based cars from prestigious endurance races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans. However, the collapse of the World SportsCar Championship in 1992 opened the door for a GT revival. Ratel, having successfully launched the Gentleman Driver’s Trophy series for the Venturi 400 supercar, capitalized on this opportunity by spearheading the return of GT cars to Le Mans in 1993. The event, which had seen just 30 prototype entries the previous year, rebounded with a 48car grid, marking a major milestone in GT racing history.

With momentum building, Ratel partnered with Patrick Peter and Jürgen Barth to establish the BPR Global GT Series in 1994. This championship, featuring high-performance GT cars from leading manufacturers, reinvigorated the category and set the stage for the creation of the

FIA GT Championship in 1997. The transformation of the 24 Hours of Spa into a GT-exclusive endurance classic in 2001 further cemented SRO’s influence on the sport.

Later on, this evolved into the FIA GT1 World Championship, launched in 2010, which showcased factory-backed teams and legendary supercars competing on an international stage. However, the economic strain of manufacturer-driven racing led to its discontinuation in 2012. Recognizing the need for a more sustainable model, SRO doubled down on GT3 racing, launching the Blancpain Endurance Series in 2011 and a Sprint counterpart in 2014. This move shifted the focus to privateer teams and a standardized Balance of Performance (BoP) system, which ensured closer competition while keeping costs more manageable.

This approach proved revolutionary, and by 2019, the Blancpain GT Series evolved into the GT World Challenge Powered by AWS championship, with continental branches spanning across multiple continents, including Europe, America,

Asia, and later Australia in 2021. The global unification of GT3 racing solidified SRO’s reputation as the premier organizer of GT competition.

Beyond the realm of GT3 machinery, SRO has been at the forefront of developing GT4 and GT2 regulations as well, offering additional platforms for manufacturers and drivers of all experience levels. The Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered, launched in 2016, further extended SRO’s

reach by linking endurance classics like the Bathurst 12 Hour, the 24 Hours of Spa, the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring, and the Indianapolis 8 Hour. Furthermore, it will also be making a return to Suzuka.

SRO has also established a partnership with the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) with the inception of the FIA Motorsport Games back in 2019. The event serves as a unique international event designed to bring together drivers from vari-

ous disciplines and nations in a multi-sport competition, and aims to create a platform where these disciplines can be showcased, celebrated, and competed in on an equal footing. From single-seaters, touring cars, karting, and electric vehicles, and more, its focus is not only on the drivers but also on fostering and promoting the values of motorsport worldwide.

As the SRO Motorsports Group enters 2025, its influence on GT racing remains unparalleled. With a robust calendar featuring world-class endurance and sprint

races, an ever-expanding global footprint, and continuous advancements in technology and fan engagement, the future of GT racing has never been brighter. This year will also bring forward changes to the GT America powered by AWS and TC America series, with modernized approaches and class restructuring in order to elevate the action even more.

Thanks to Ratel’s enduring vision, production-based sports car racing continues to thrive, bringing together manufacturers, teams, and fans in an era of unprecedented competition and excitement. With a new season upon us, SRO stands poised to take GT racing to even greater heights, ensuring that the passion for these incredible machines remains stronger than ever.

GT WORLD CHALLENGE AMERICA

The GT World Challenge America powered by AWS continues to be the premier GT racing series in North America, featuring elite GT3 competition across the nation. The 2025 season will traverse renowned tracks from coast to coast, including the season opener at Sonoma Raceway in California’s wine country, before heading to Austin, Texas for some southern comfort at Circuit of The Americas. Drivers and teams will go on to brave the heat and humidity at Sebring International Raceway and VIRginia International Raceway, followed up by high intensity rounds at Road America and Barber Motorsports Park. Finally, the season will once again be concluded with the Indianapolis 8 Hour, taking place mid-October.

The global GT World Challenge powered by AWS platform spans across four continents—America, Asia, Australia, and Europe—with a total of 53 rounds across 30 prestigious venues, including Mount Panorama Circuit, Spa-Francorchamps, Suzuka Circuit, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, to name a few.

In 2025, a record-breaking 10 manufacturers are taking part in the global GT World Challenge championship, with Corvette Racing being the most recent addition. This year will also bring forward a new points scoring system, with the revised format allocating points per the overall classification of each race. Furthermore, a maximum of two cars per registered manufacturer will score points, with the remaining entries from the eligible manufacturers that finish inside the top ten being invisible and their points redistributed to the next eligible car. Additionally, class results no longer contribute towards the points total, but global results and points attribution remain separate to each continental series’ respective championship.

For America, each event unfolds over the course of three days, featuring practice sessions, qualifying, and two 90-minute

double-header feature races. The heightened level of competition attracts prominent manufacturers and teams, each fielding two drivers per entry. The classification system comprises three classes based on combined driver ratings: PRO, PRO-AM, and AM.

A straightforward and easily identifiable classification system aids viewers in tracking each team’s progress within their respective class. Cars bear labeled number decals on the side panel, hood, and rear bumper, denoting their category. White decals are presented for the PRO class, with

“The classification system comprises three classes based on combined driver ratings: PRO, PRO-AM, and AM”

Black decals signifying the PRO-AM class, and red being utilized for the AM class. The impact of this championship extends globally, with the series welcoming the Intercontinental GT Challenge championship for the season finale, the Indianapolis 8 Hour, as well as serving as a tie-in with the historic CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.

The 2024 season delivered thrilling races and close championship battles that were only decided in the final round. Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer stepped up to the PRO class and made their mark, claiming the title after winning the illustrious Indy 8 Hour. However, DXDT Racing’s Alec Udell and Tommy Milner gave them a run for their money, claiming eight consecutive victories of their own throughout the season. In the PRO-AM class, the championship was decided by one single point in the final race, with Turner Motorsport’s Justin Rothberg and Robby Foley coming out on top over ST Racing’s Samantha Tan and Neil Verhagen. In the AM class, it was AF Corse’s Jay Schreibman and Ozz Negri who secured the championship, and they have cemented their plans to defend their title in 2025. As the 2025 season approaches, new teams and returning rivals will take center stage as they prepare to duel it out for another shot at glory and success.

WHEREANDHOWTOWATCH

The GT World Challenge America powered by AWS championship will be visiting tracks all over the country. The opening rounds take place at Sonoma Raceway, followed by trips to Circuit of The Americas, Sebring International Raceway, VIRginia

International Raceway, Road America, and Barber Motorsports Park. The season will conclude at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Fans can tune in to the races in real time via livestreams on the official GT World YouTube channel and SRO Motorsports Twitch. MavTV will also be airing live broadcasts and highlights of each race. PIRELLI

From the outset, Pirelli has stood at the pinnacle of performance. Founded in Milan in 1872 by Giovanni Battista Pirelli, the company quickly became a pioneer in the rubber tire industry, rising alongside the rapid growth of the automobile in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Since its early days, Pirelli has harnessed the world of motorsports as both a testing ground and a showcase for its tire innovations. Vehicles equipped with Pirelli tires have dominated racetracks across the globe, securing numerous victories and championships. The expertise gained in motorsports has been directly

transferred to Pirelli’s production lines, enhancing the performance of its tires for cars, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles worldwide.

2025 marks Pirelli’s fifteenth consecutive year as the official tire supplier for SRO America, reflecting its unwavering commitment to the series and to motorsports as a whole. Many of the race cars

in GT and touring car events are based on production models, meaning the innovations tested on the racetrack directly benefit Pirelli’s street tire division. With over a dozen world-class manufacturers in the SRO America paddock, Pirelli gains invaluable experience that translates into tire development for many of the vehicles available to consumers.

Today, Pirelli’s dedication to using motorsports as a proving ground for tire technology is showcased in SRO America, developing tires that offer both outstanding performance and durability across the wide variety of road courses in the series. It is no simple challenge. Adding to the complexity: Pirelli must produce tires for an extensive range of high-performance vehicles. From rear-wheeldrive GT3 cars with extreme cornering speeds to GT4 cars with slightly less downforce but comparable power, and a mix of front- and rear-wheel-drive touring cars, Pirelli’s P-Zero line must deliver performance and reliability

“Pirelli’s motorsports involvement extends far beyond North America, as it is the official tire supplier for SRO’s global GT racing series”

across a wide range of platforms.

Pirelli’s tires are engineered to offer unmatched grip, handling, and stability, empowering drivers to push their cars to the edge of their limits and achieve peak performance. With each new iteration of the P-Zero race tire, track records continue to fall, highlighting the tire’s ability to help drivers conquer the toughest challenges. With Pirelli, drivers can trust that they are equipped with the most advanced technology to take on the most demanding circuits worldwide, no matter the weather conditions.

Pirelli’s motorsports involvement extends far beyond North America, as it is the official tire supplier for SRO’s global GT racing series. The company’s presence spans Europe, Asia,

and Australia through championships like the GT World Challenge and the Intercontinental GT Challenge, making its influence felt on every continent. Outside of the world of GT racing, Pirelli also holds the exclusive tire supply contract for Formula 1.

Looking ahead, Pirelli is committed to a sustainable future, focused on reducing its environmental impact and incorporating eco-friendly materials in its manufacturing processes. Through innovations like biobased materials and eco-friendly compounds, Pirelli is at the forefront of creating

more sustainable tire solutions—a goal shared with SRO America.

With more than a century of experience in motorsports, Pirelli has earned its reputation as a tire industry leader. From breakthroughs in wet-weather tire performance to pioneering run-flat and eco- friendly designs, motorsport has always served as a proving ground for Pirelli’s innovations. The cutting-edge tire technology found on the racetrack today is the same technology available to consumers at their local tire dealers.

INDY 8 HOUR

This October, the world’s top GT teams and drivers will converge on the Racing Capital of the World for the sixth edition of the Indianapolis 8 Hour. The event will once again serve as the culmination of both the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS season as well and the newly-expanded Intercontinental GT Challenge, with multiple season championships set to be settled at one of the most venerated venues in all of motorsports: the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Last year’s running of the Indy 8 Hour saw a thrilling duel in the final hour between Team WRT, representing the best of the international field, and Wright Motorsports, champions of GTWC America’s top class, that was only decided on the final lap. This year’s fixture figures to attract the same level of star teams and

drivers in top-flight GT3 machinery to take on the challenge of The Brickyard.

The track boasts a history that dates to 1909, making it the oldest continuously used motorsports venue in the world. Although best known for the 500-mile race each May, IMS has hosted Formula 1, Moto GP, NASCAR, and sports car racing

in its 116 years of history. While not the only sports car race at the venue, the Indy 8 Hour stands alone as the longest race held at the track each year and since 2022 also holds the distinction of being the track’s only night race, with fireworks greeting the winners as they cross the famed Yard of Bricks.

After a three year stint at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the Intercontinental GT Challenge has made Indianapolis its American home since 2020 and serves as a fitting conclusion to a championship that stops at five of the most prestigious tracks in the world. Commencing with the Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour in January, the slate also includes a pair of European 24 hour races in back to-back-weeks in June. Up first, the Ravenol 24 Hours of the Nurburgring returns for its second year as an IGTC fixture, followed immediately by the world’s greatest GT3 race: the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa.

“With five grueling endurance races at iconic venues on four continents, There is no bigger prize in GT racing than the Intercontinental GT Challenge crown”

After enduring consecutive 24 hour races over the summer, the calendar resumes in September with the return of the the Suzuka 1000 kilometer race after five years of dormancy before concluding at Indianapolis in October. With five grueling endurance races at iconic venues on four continents, here is no bigger prize in GT racing than the Intercontinental GT Challenge crown.

Joining the global stars of the IGTC are the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS regulars who also will conclude their seasons with the Indy 8 Hour. It is the the series’ longest race, and with just the one race on the weekend rather than the traditional two 90-minute race format, double championship points add to the jeopardy, and the drama, of GT racing’s championship weekend.

Adding to the fun will be the full raft of SRO America-sanctioned series, including Pirelli GT4 America, GT America powered by AWS, and TC America powered by Skip Barber, each with their own title battles to conclude. All taken together, the Indy 8 Hour is a can’t miss weekend of motorsports and a celebration of the global GT racing community.

The Heart of Racing Team is a premier global motorsport competitor, racing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, FIA World Endurance Championship, and SRO World Challenge. Known for blending cuttingedge technology with skilled driver talent, the team excels in performance and precision with its partnership with Aston Martin Racing. O the track, Heart of Racing is dedicated to philanthropy, particularly with Seattle Children’s. With a strong racing tradition and a focus on innovation, the team continues to inspire fans and make a positive impact worldwide.

GT AMERICA

Since its introduction in 2021, the GT America powered by AWS championship has evolved into a premier racing series, blending the classic World Challenge sprint format with modern high-performance machinery. As the 2025 season approaches, the series is preparing to further enhance the level of competition and engagement as they boast a highly talented and diverse grid of expert drivers and up-and-coming stars.

The series will continue to feature two 40-minute races per weekend, maintaining the popular single-driver format. The competition remains open to Bronze-rated drivers, with vehicle classifications in GT2, GT3, and GT4 categories, producing thrilling multi-class racing.

Vehicles are distinguished by engine output, power, and drivetrain configurations, with GT3 cars boasting the most power but limited downforce, followed by GT2 and GT4. Visual identifiers include side and rear bumper number panels, color-coded by class: red for GT3, blue for GT2, and yellow for GT4.

“Vehicles are distinguished by engine output, power, and drivetrain configurations, with GT3 cars boasting the most power”

The 2025 season will commence at Sonoma Raceway, followed by rounds at prestigious tracks such as Circuit of the Americas, Sebring International Raceway, VIRginia International Raceway, Road America, Barber Motorsports Park, and concluding at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Additionally, the series will be making another return to the Grand Prix of Long Beach, racing alongside the NTT INDYCAR SERIES for the 50th anniversary edition of the event.

In 2024, it was a three-way battle to the very end between Johnny O’Connell, Justin Rothberg, and Jason Daskalos in the SRO3 class. In the end, it was O’Connell who prevailed, clinching the championship title by one single point as he crossed the finish line at the Brickyard. The GT4 championship saw the emergence of Isaac Sherman’s dominant winning streak, accumulating 13 victories and never finishing off the podium all

season long. Finally, Alan Grossberg took home the GT2 class championship.

THE FUTURE OF THE GT BUSINESS FORUM

The SRO America has more to offer beyond the incredible on-track entertainment, it also serves as a hub for industry leaders to exchange insights and forge valuable connections. Now entering its second year, the GT Business Forum is set to expand significantly in 2025, providing an even greater platform for professionals to explore the synergy between motorsports and business succe

Launched in 2024, the GT Business Forum quickly established itself as a dynamic environment where entrepreneurs, executives, and professionals across a wide variety of industries

can come together to share ideas, discuss innovation, and build lasting partnerships. The panel discussions, led by thought leaders both inside and outside the motorsports world, will continue to provide

attendees with actionable strategies to apply in their own industries.

Its inaugural events at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in May and the Indy 8 Hour in October proved to be highly valuable and popular, drawing industry leaders who were eager to learn from motorsports’ high-performance culture.

Building on its success, the GT Business Forum is set to grow in 2025 with additional race weekend events, expanded topics, and a broader reach across industries. The vision for the forum has always been to create intentional conversations that drive collaboration beyond race weekends. This season, SRO America will take that mission even further, with diversified speaker lineups and deeper discussions around leadership, innovation, and team dynamics, all with the goal of making

motorsports a catalyst for meaningful business growth.

The themes explored in 2024, such as winning strategies in business, team building, and adaptability in high-pressure environments, laid a strong foundation for future conversations. The upcoming 2025 editions will explore and introduce even more new perspectives.

As motorsports increasingly relies on data-driven decision-making, highly influential organizations and key partners such as Amazon Web Services and CrowdStrike continue to play a role in shaping

discussions at the GT Business Forum. AWS, with its cloud computing and data hosting services, provides the backbone for real-time analytics, race strategy optimization, and business intelligence applications across various industries. Meanwhile, CrowdStrike’s expertise in technological development and cybersecurity ensures that the ever-growing landscape of connected systems and digital transformation remains secure. The 2025 season will see additional networking opportunities, interactive workshops, and exclusive behind-thescenes access that solidify the forum as a must-attend for professionals looking to blend passion with business growth. The momentum from last year ensures that this initiative is not just an add-on to race weekends but a pillar of SRO’s long-term commitment to fostering B2B engagement. With its growing influence, the GT Business Forum is poised to redefine how motorsports serves as a bridge for business innovation, and will accelerate opportunities for collaboration, learning, and success in ways never seen before.

PIRELLI GT4 AMERICA

The Pirelli GT4 America championship has firmly cemented itself as one of North America’s most thrilling and competitive racing series. Since its inception, the championship has experienced remarkable growth, attracting an increasing number of manufacturers and teams eager to compete in its dynamic multi-class format. With its origins being rooted in Pirelli World Challenge in the GTS class, the series was the first in North America to adopt the GT4 platform within their overall structure. From there came a notable and rapid gain in the popularity of GT4 machinery globally, which later led to the GTS class being comprised of SRO homologated GT4 cars only.

The championship evolved again in 2020, becoming the beloved format it is today. Heading into the 2025 season, the series continues to build on its legacy, delivering highly entertaining racing with an impressive grid of entries.

The Pirelli GT4 America championship maintains its signature sprint format, featuring two 60-minute races per race weekend event. Each team consists of two drivers who share driving duties, with mandatory midrace driver changes adding a strategic element to the competition. Driver pairings are classified into three distinct categories based on FIA driver ratings, with the Silver class being composed of emerging professional and high-level amateur drivers, while the PRO-AM class features a mix of professional and amateur competitors, and the AM class is reserved for amateur driver pairings.

In order to ensure consistency and clarity on track, spectators and fans can easily distinguish the different classes through color-coded number decals located on the side panel, hood, and rear bumper of each car; silver for the Silver Class, black for PRO-AM, and red for the AM Class.

The GT4 championship continues to

attract major global manufacturers, each displaying high levels of commitment to meeting customer demands. Notable marques such as Aston Martin, BMW, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, Porsche, and Toyota are all fielding entries, showcasing the diversity and competitive balance that define the series, as well as the desire for brands to earn their place as frontrunners.

“The Pirelli GT4 America championship maintains its signature sprint format, featuring two 60-minute races per race weekend event”

One of the most exciting developments for 2025 is the continuation of the fan-favorite three-hour endurance race, the Lone Star Enduro, which was introduced last season and will once again take place at Circuit of The Americas. This unique event tests teams’ strategic depth and stamina, adding another dimension to an already competitive championship.

The previous season saw intense championship battles across all three classes, with titles only being decided in the final rounds at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The title fight went down to the wire in the Silver class, with RS1 clinching a dramatic final victory to secure the crown. In the PRO-AM category, ACI Motorsports proved that consistency is key in their pursuit for the class championship. In the AM class, it was a real sprint to the finish, with the final outcome only being decided in the last corners, promoting Rotek Racing to the top of the leaderboard.

HOWANDWHERETO WATCH

The Pirelli GT4 America championship continues to showcase high-level GT4 competition at some of North America’s most renowned circuits. The 2025 calendar features a mix of classic and challenging venues, such as Sonoma Raceway, Circuit of The Americas, Sebring International Raceway, VIRginia International Raceway, Road America, Barber Motorsports Park, and the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway. TC AMERICA

The TC America powered by Skip Barber championship continues to be a cornerstone in professional touring car racing, with an even more competitive landscape emerging heading into the 2025 season. Serving as a pivotal platform for emerging driver talents in North America, the series has been instrumental in nurturing drivers who have achieved success across other SRO Motorsports America championships.

The series honors the rich history of touring car racing, which began in the mid-20th century when manufacturers started modifying production cars for competition, and this very same legacy is evident in today’s touring and GT cars. The current championship traces its roots back to the Speedvision World Challenge, later known as the Speed World Challenge and eventually the Pirelli World Challenge, before its acquisition by the SRO Motorsports Group.

In 2025, TC America has introduced significant format changes to heighten the level of competition and provide more action for both drivers and fans alike. The series now features two 25-minute sprint races per weekend, with the events at Sebring and Barber consisting of a triple-header.

On top of this, the classes have been merged, providing a more cost-effective streamlined category structure. More specifically, TCX and TC are combining

The return to a single class structure is an element that is deeply rooted in the longstanding history of the series, beckoning back to the days of World Challenge. TOYOTA’S GR CUP CONTINUES UNDER SRO BANNER IN 2025

The Toyota Gazoo Racing North America (TGRNA) GR Cup Series is set to make its highly anticipated return to the track in 2025 for its third season under the SRO Motorsports America banner. This year brings exciting developments, as TGRNA expands its presence with the GR86 Cup Car while introducing the all-new GR Corolla TC to TC America. Additionally, the updated GR Supra GT4 EVO2 will take on the competition in both GT America and GT4 America, further solidifying Toyota’s commitment to top-tier sports car racing.

With over 30 years of experience in GT Racing, SRO Motorsports America provides the ideal platform for the GR Cup Series, providing thrilling racing in 14 races at seven prestigious venues across the United States. The GR Cup reinforces and validates the track-inspired engineering bred into every Toyota GR vehicle. Along with building excitement for fans, these race efforts provide valuable on-track insights that help Toyota engineers develop even better road vehicles.

Single-make series racing, or onemake racing, is a category of motorsports where all drivers compete using identical (homologated) cars from the same manufacturer. This creates a level playing field, where success depends on the team and driver’s ability to master vehicle setup, track nuances, and maintain consistent lap times. The GR86 Cup Car has been designated as the race vehicle in Toyota’s GR Cup.

Starting as a stock GR86, each vehicle undergoes a complete transformation into the GR86 Cup Car at Toyota Gazoo Racing North America’s cutting-edge facility, the GR Garage, in Mooresville, North Carolina. Engineered for peak performance and safety, these race-ready machines feature Bosch engine management, a custom Borla exhaust, a SADEV 6-speed sequential transmission, Alcon brakes, JRi adjustable shocks, and OMP safety

equipment. Additional enhancements include a reinforced roll cage, a carbon fiber rear wing, a 22-gallon fuel cell, a TGRNA-designed MacPherson strut, a custom Stratasys bodywork, a TGRNA-engineered splitter, and more—ensuring the GR86 Cup Car is built to provide excellent racing throughout the track.

The GR Cup will continue to offer a $1 million purse and prize package. The top eight finishers will be awarded after each race, with race winners earning up to $12,000 and the season champion winning

$30,000. This is made possible by the dedicated partners of the series, including Mobil 1, Continental, Endava, Segra, Worldwide Express, Yahoo, Racing Spirit, JBL, OMP, and Stratasys.

From exclusive hospitality experiences to dynamic partner-sponsored displays, the GR Cup offers a true celebration of car culture and motorsports. Whether spectating or competing, guests will immerse themselves in the excitement of SRO’s premier events while witnessing the impressive performance of the Toyota GR86 Cup Car in action.

To watch the GR Cup, join SRO Motorsports America at any of the following race venues: Sonoma Raceway, Circuit of the Americas, Sebring International Raceway, VIRginia International Raceway, Road America, Barber Motorsports Park and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The races can also be live streamed on SRO America’s GT World YouTube channel.

Fans and sim racers alike can get in on the action by getting behind the wheel of the car on iRacing or by joining the official GR Cup eSports League, where the thrill of the real-life Toyota GR Cup Series is

brought to iRacing’s virtual stage. With identical GR86 Cup Cars and the same seven legendary tracks from the U.S. tour, qualifying competitors will go wheel-towheel in an electrifying competition. With over $10,000 in purse and prizes up for grabs, the stakes are high, the racing is fierce, and the experience is as authentic as it gets.

Whether you’re behind the wheel of a GR86 Cup car, racing in the eSports league, or cheering from the sidelines, The GR Cup Series aims to provide adrenaline-fueled excitement for everyone

MCLAREN TROPHY AMERICA

The 2025 season sees the addition of the new McLaren Trophy North America championship to the SRO America package at five of the most iconic road courses on the continent. The new series builds on the success of its European counterpart which debuted in 2023, and with a parallel series launching in North America, the 2025 season will provide more opportunities for talent to emerge on the global stage.

The centerpiece of the McLaren Trophy championship is the new Artura Trophy EVO car. This advanced machine is designed to boost performance with a more aggressive stance, wider tires, and an improved aerodynamic structure relative to its predecessor. Powered by a 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine, the EVO car delivers 577bhp, increased to 612bhp with an innovative ‘Push to Pass’ system that will provide additional strategic opportunities during races. These enhancements will undoubtedly heighten the excitement and intensity of the one-make championship. Additionally, a classes for existing McLaren 570S Trophy cars will provide a chance for teams and drivers with extant machinery to take part in the debut season of the series.

Alongside the new car, the McLaren Trophy welcomes a Pro category, aimed at nurturing professional drivers in the Silver class. These competitors, whether racing solo or in Silver/Silver pairings, will have the chance to progress through the McLaren Trophy Academy. This development program, targeted at drivers aged 26 and under, offers access to workshops focused on driving skills, engineering, and media training, all essential for a future in motorsport.

The inclusion of a Pro class is indicative of the brand’s dedication to building the next generation of McLaren champions. Titlists from both the North American and European series’ Pro classes will receive an automatic invitation to the McLaren Young Driver Shoot Out, the winner of which will be selected to become a McLaren Graduate and begin the process to become a McLaren Factory Driver.

“THE McLaren Trophy North America is designed to be a destination for the high-level amateur enthusiasts that perennially are at the core of sports car racing globally”

Through the Academy and the Pro category’s direct pathway to McLaren’s Factory Driver program, the championship stands as a major stepping stone for young and ambitious drivers. Fans of GT racing can expect to witness not only fierce competition but also the future

stars of the sport emerging through this exciting initiative.

In addition to being a stepping stone for aspiring professional drivers, McLaren Trophy North America is designed to be a destination for the high-level amateur enthusiasts that perennially are at the core of sports car racing globally. Motor Speedway ensures that the championship will draw interest from drivers of all levels of experience and ambition.

The race format will include a pair of 50-minute races on each race weekend, all of which are set to share the venue with SRO America’s prestigious GT World Challenge America powered by AWS series. can take place if applicable. The relatively short race windows will ensure fierce competition from the drop of the green flag.

The inaugural season of McLaren Trophy North America will commence at Northern California’s Sonoma Raceway March 28 –30 before making the trip to Austin, Texas and the home of the US Grand Prix: Circuit of The Americas April 25 – 27. THE POWERFUL PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN AWS AND SRO

SRO Motorsports Group has enjoyed a thriving partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), a global leader in cloud computing, since 2019. This collaboration, which expanded significantly in 2020 when AWS became the presenting sponsor, has been integral in shaping the future of global motorsports, particularly within the GT World Challenge series. The renewed partnership, now extended through 2025 and beyond, continues to build upon their shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and global expansion across the GT World Challenge America, Europe, Asia, and Australia championships.

As SRO Motorsports Group’s official global technology provider, AWS has introduced cutting-edge tools like cloud services, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and data analytics across SRO’s various series worldwide. This deep integration of AWS’s technology enables significant advancements in race operations, safe -

ty, media, fan engagement, and overall competition.

The innovative solutions offered by AWS help SRO harness vast amounts of real-time data, including car telemetry and driver performance. It also encompasses placing sensors throughout the circuits to collect accurate information on track conditions, weather patterns, and environ-

mental factors, all of which are seamlessly integrated into AWS’s cloud infrastructure. These insights lead to smarter decision-making for teams, strategy optimization, and contribute to an elevated experience for all in attendance at race events, in addition to allowing officials to make quick adjustments and adapt event logistics as needed.

AWS’s capabilities have also enhanced the delivery of global motorsports content. Through AWS-powered video streaming and content delivery solutions, SRO is able to offer high-definition, low-latency broadcasts of events, reaching a global audience and providing deeper interaction with the sport. Moreover, the introduction of RaceVision powered by AWS has revolutionized how fans experience races, offering real-time insights such as top speeds and cornering prowess, which bring them closer to the action.

servers and livestream events, ensuring a professional broadcast experience.

Looking ahead, AWS will continue to play a pivotal role in enhancing the Balance of Performance (BOP) criteria, which is vital to modern GT racing. By managing data hosting for BOP, AWS supports fair and competitive racing, an essential element of the series.

SRO ESPORTS

The 2025 season will see SRO Motorsports America continue to bolster its commitment to Esports with continued commitment to the highest levels of sim racing competition, as well as through new initiatives designed to welcome newcomers to motorsports. In partnership with industry-leading brands like Kunos Simulazioni, SRO America is set to continue its trailblazing role of utilizing Esports as a platform to connect with fans as well as to identify the motorsports stars of tomorrow.

The SRO has long been a global leader in Esports within the motorsports space, bringing innovative ideas like on-site Esports arenas and major race events and incorporating Esports into real-world championships. The SRO’s official simulation, Assetto Corsa Competizione, was released to the public in 2019, giving race fans around the globe a chance to experience the thrilling

world of professional GT racing like never before. While initially focused on the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, ACC has now expanded to include many of the cars, drivers, and tracks of the SRO’s North American championships, faithfully recreated with a stunning degree of realism.

2020 saw the creation of the first edition of SRO America’s Esports championship,

#GTRivals, pitting the established drivers of the series against guest racers from other disciplines and top sim racers that vied to qualify for a coveted chance to race against the real-world professionals. The success of #GTRivals led to a greater integration with the global SRO Esports championship in future seasons and generated a passionate community of racers of both the real-world and virtual variety.

This trend has culminated in recent years with an annual celebration of virtual motorsports: the PRI SIM Racing Arena powered by SRO at the annual Performance Racing Industry trade show in Indianapolis each December. For three days, the arena hosts invitational and open racing, bringing the stars of the Esports world and the SRO’s real-world racers together to compete on a massive stage. In addition to the worldwide broadcast on the SRO’s GT World YouTube channel, PRI attendees are given a firsthand look at the skill and precision of some of the world’s top drivers.

“For the Esports stars, it provided the unique opportunity to race shoulder-to-shoulder with their rivals”

In the most recent edition, 16 full Fanatec GT simulators were assembled in the arena for use by the competitors, creating a level playing field of equipment for the competition. For the Esports stars, it provided the unique opportunity to race shoulder-to-shoulder with their rivals, many of whom had raced with and

against one another for years but had not met previously. Three days of competition showcased the crossover between real-world and virtual racing in front of the assembled motorsports industry and to the worldwide viewing audience, emphasizing the SRO’s strategy of convergence between fans and participants of the two forms of the the sport.

New for 2025, SRO America is amping up its Esports portfolio with an electrifying series of community races, hosted by DJ, music producer, and motorsports aficio-

nado Yuko Rade. This eight-race virtual showdown isn’t just about competition—it’s a high-energy celebration of speed, skill, and the vibrant SRO fan community. Each event will be streamed live on Twitch, featuring thrilling on-track battles, exclusive interviews with real-world and esports racers, and high-voltage DJ sets from Yuko Rade himself. Prizes await the top three finishers in every round, with extra rewards and surprises for engaged fans. Mark your calendars, bring the hype, and tune in for your shot at glory!
