Each year, EQUS proudly supports the educational goals of our members and their families through our annual scholarship program. Since its launch in 2015, the program has awarded $46,000 to students pursuing postsecondary and trades education. This year, four scholarships of $1,500 each are available to eligible applicants.
The EQUS Scholarship Program recognizes more than just strong academics. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, community involvement, volunteerism, and personal pursuits. Our committee carefully reviews each application and all supporting materials to choose the top four applicants.
To be eligible, applicants must live in Alberta and be either an EQUS member or the child or guardian of a member in good standing. They must be enrolled full-time in a post-secondary or apprenticeship trade program that’s at least two years long. The program is open to students of all ages—not just recent high school graduates.
Applicants must submit a completed application form, personal essay, two reference letters, an official transcript, and proof of enrollment. The deadline to apply is August 1, 2025, and all materials must be received by that date. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
This scholarship program is one of the many ways EQUS invests in the future of our communities. We’re proud to support the next generation of Alberta’s leaders, builders, and changemakers.

Thanks to the generosity of our members, Operation Round Up has been able to support three critical community initiatives across our EQUS Service Area in 2025.
Already this year, over $12,000 has been distributed to support local community members and projects: $1,148 through Members Helping Members, which supports EQUS members in need and $11,043 through Operation Round Up, funding impactful community projects and initiatives. Congratulations to all of our funding recipients so far in 2025: ABC Playschool, Lake Isle Farmers Association, and Penhold Elementary School!
Operation Round Up is a program that provides grants to initiatives that support rural youth and seniors using funds raised from participating EQUS members rounding their monthly bills up to the nearest dollar.
Whether you’re part of a local group looking for support or just want to see your membership dollars at work, there’s so much to be proud of!
