Huangpu River (former Expo Site) Wuliqiao Riverfront Mixed Use Strategically located on the Huangpu River, previously part of the 2010 World Expo site, Greenland Riverfront Project is a landmark mixed-use development that introduces a new level of luxury in Shanghai. The project will also become an city icon for its proximity to the LuPu bridge.

Make the towers appears taller Emphasis on Roof Crown details base on site condition Tower massing study - through articulation of the base mass, which has a 1800m² floor plate size and is 100m in high, groups of

tower prelimiary designs are created and put into the site context for further development.

The challenge is through these articulations to make the relatively big plate size and short tower to appear slenderer.

The emphasis on tower roof crown design is respond to the view from the Lupu bridge as

well as from across the Huangpu River.

The high roof crown design also allows the increase in overall height.

On the lower right, a diagram of the final chosen massing (Option 1) provided with corresponding retail podium.

The organization of the four towers not only creats a dialog with the podium but also in relation to the site and the surroundings.

On Opposite page are the three options that are being further developed, with some indication of possible facade treatment.

Centripetal-the twisting of the towers suggest a centralize podium in the site.

DESIGN IDEA CHOSEN OPTION DIAGRAM The flow of water (Huangpu River) convergence of water flow into the site Design Idea- Huangpu River is the largest river in Shanghai. It has been the force of transportation into the mainland. It has also deeply affect the historical and cultrual development in Shanghai.

This project idea is resemblance the water movement like the Huangpu River. This project is a convergence of historical, cultural and commercial aspects.

TOWER FACADE DESIGN +LIGHT POLLUTION Shanghai has strict window wall ratio Office tower facade facing Residential Units / Hospitals need to have a low window wall ratio to protect inhabitant from glares reflected from glass units Window-wall ratio is limited strictly according to the designing norm of a building in Shanghai. Theoretically, all life-cycle phases of buildings should be studied to understand the total energy consumption and environmental emissions of different window-wall ratios.

Thus, a variation on facade pattern is necessary to allow the office tower have maxium amount of the unblocked view towards the Huangpu River while enough solid area on facade to prevent too much reflected light affecting the near by residential buildings.

The rain drop is formed with taper metal panel at the top and bottom. The rain drop is wider at lower level (closer ot residential habitants) and narrower at the top ( better view to the river and with less effect to surround residential

building).

As T2/T4 are 120m in height, the rain drop can generally be wider, while T1/T3 are only 90m, the rain drop is more slender in proportion to the overall scale. Therefore, adjustment

has been made on the gradation pattern to allows a better transition of the rain drop units. The gradation pattern are also made in respond to the light sensative zone.

OVERALL SECTION The overall relation between the office and podium as well as the highway A train line runs right next to the site brings people in from the east side, the highway on the west side brings in major traffice flow. Access to the office tower is directly through the office elevator from the parking lot or office lobby.

Tree like Structure on Roof A green roof for the offices area left, Roof trellis support by tree structure on top of core, the edges of trellis are supported by structure on top of the columns.

There is a trim that wrap around between the facade and trellis. The trim then becomes part of the curtain wall as it extends below.

Mango West Bund Plaza is a new mixed-use development which forms part of Shanghai’s West Bund regeneration plans. Comprising international Grade-A offices, a media hub and multi-purpose venues, it is set to be a future destination for commercial, creative and cultural pursuits.

Occupying an area of 18,500m2, the development is located within the DreamCenter Masterplan which includes nine plots of land wholly dedicated for digital media, technology and creative industries’ use.

Following the vision of the wider masterplan, pedestrian bridges and a mega-platform on the second level will ensure Mango West Bund Plaza is seamlessly connected to the neighbouring plots.

MASSING STUDIES / OPTIONS

At the heart of the scheme is the Central Plaza, an open social gathering space for the community. With landscaped terraces and a grand staircase connecting to the wider masterplan, the plaza creates a visual and spatial dialogue between the high-rise office towers to the north and the low-rise buildings to the south.

MASSING+ FUNCTIONS The 100m and 60m office towers located on the northern side of the site. This allows the unobstructed visual corridor towards the river.

The Retail and F&B facilities are located in the perimeter of the platform. The space in between is a semi-public, media plaza which offers flexible spaces with multiple usages for a diverse range of purposes.

The whole complex is designed to adapt to the existing conditions of the site connecting with the surrounding features. Some of the constraints we are following are: 01_The heights decrease as they approach the river, 02_An open corridor (west-east) connecting physically and visually until the river.

faรงade treatment through the use of fins. These three types of fins, differing in thickness and width, are designed to create undulating wave patterns which mirror the waterfront location, while also working as external shading devices. Low-E insulated tempered glass will be used to reduce heat gain and energy consumption. Mango West Bund Plaza is anticipated to receive LEED certifications.

Mango Box Section A continuous spiral circulation from L1 to roof

Focul Point of East Entrace Mango Box is raised up to creat an threshold for entrace A main focal point of the design is the 24m tall ‘Mango Box’. Located at the east entrance, the elevated structure creates an eye catching sense of arrival for visitors along the street. With a transparent façade, the Mango Box is designed to capture sunlight and reduce its energy consumption. The building forms the key cultural component of the development and has been designed with great flexibility to house a wide range of programmes, from car shows to art exhibitions and performances.

The transparency of the structure offers glimpses into the striking geometric interior design and enables the building to glow at night like a lantern amongst the other developments.

The CITS Sanya Eyot development is located in the new resort area of Haitang Bay in Sanya. Rising as a high-end tourism destination, the area attracts visitors from around the world as a result of its world-class yachting community, international luxury hotel cluster and unspoiled natural assets.

The scheme will introduce a 32,000m2 mixed-use, retail-led destination which will be differentiated from the traditional retail projects currently in Haitang Bay. The masterplan has prescribed strategies for celebrating the island landscape, placemaking and multi-layered environments, to establish a point of difference for this high-profile future scheme

Locating in the tourist center, the Intertwining commercial strips bring new thinking to the retail, entertainment, cultural and art experiences within the development. The master plan is animated by vibrant spaces and offset by quieter zones. The significant diversity in the programmatic mix ensure to arouse interest and appeal to a large visitor base.
