Hundreds of brand new plush bears are delivered to the Pediatrics Unit of the Regina General Hospital each year through the Regina Leader-Post Plush Bears Program. Local businesses sponsor the program, and plush bears with the businesses’ names attached are distributed by the Regina General Hospital and local EMS units to children in crisis situations.
This year, Sun Life Financial became a major partner in the Leader-Post Plush Bear program. The company’s generosity has helped to make it possible for more than 1,500 toys to be delivered to the Regina General Hospital (RGH) for distribution throughout the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region. Pictured above at the hospital’s pediatric ward are (front row, left to right): Diane Fahlman, Sun Life Financial Advisor; Douglas Stroud, Sun Life Financial Advisor; Christopher Kenny, brother of an RGH pediatric ward patient; and Tegan Webber, Unit 4F Pediatrics Child Life Specialist; (back row, left to right): Crystal Frei, Leader-Post; Brenda Indzeoski, Leader-Post plush bear mascot; Jesse Culbert, Leader-Post; and Lizzy Anderson, RGH Unit 4F Volunteer.
Thank you! Thank you to everyone who generously supported the annual Regina Leader-Post Plush Bear Program. The gift of a soft, cuddly teddy bear will be made on your behalf, bringing comfort to a child in distress. Approximately 1,500 plush toys will be distributed throughout the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region in the coming year.
