Brief Information The date of the event and recording will be Sunday 20 September 2015 at Portsmouth Guildhall. The recording sessions will commence at 3pm and end at 7pm. Once your choir track and mass choir track has been recorded people may leave during the set up period for the next track (ie when recording is not in progress). One rehearsal for the combined piece will take place in September on a date to be announced. It will be essential for singers to attend this rehearsal. Tickets will be available for non-singers and members of the public at the event at £10 each and age 16 and under £1 with an adult. David Price from Portsmouth Cathedral is organising the recording and event together with a small team of people from organisations and local musicians. In addition to the new composition, choirs can propose their own track (between 2 and 4 mins in length) that may be accepted for the album. The themes to include: Peace, Sacrifice, Valour and Dedication. Each choir that takes part will be offered a track. Each choir is responsible for providing the music sheets for the piece they have selected for their choir members. Proposed tracks to be approved by David Price. The organ and piano will be available for accompanists. A brass, wind instrument or bass guitar may be used. We will be working with Convivium Records who have considerable experience recording choirs (including the Portsmouth Cathedral Choir and Portsmouth Grammar School Choristers). http://www.conviviumrecords.co.uk/ The CD and Digital Download will be distributed by The D-Day Museum Trust.
