Y6-8 Creative Arts Showcase
Thursday 25th May saw the students from Years 6, 7 & 8, in both the day and hybrid schools showcase their work from across the Creative Arts Faculty.
The massed choirs got things started with renditions of the classics ‘Hit the Road Jack’, ‘Another One Bites the Dust’ and ‘Another Brick In the Wall’ with a selection of solos included. There were solo and duet items from all the year groups which showed a high level of proficiency and confidence whether students were in Year 6 or older.

Year 6 Drama performed a scene from ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ whilst trestle masks and scenes from ‘Ernie’s Incredible Illucinations’ demonstrated the abilities of the Year 7 classes. African Mask Making work in Year 7 Art was imaginatively presented with the use of a choreographed routine accompanied by djembe drums, and students explained the projects in Design that they had been working on.
Year 8 Hybrid students eloquently and clearly guided the audience through the evening before everyone joined together to sing Rick Astley’s anthem ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’.
Huge congratulations to all the students for their contributions and to the Creative Arts Faculty for bringing their work together.
