The Youth Ballet Academy offers a fun and challenging learning environment, where dancers enjoy an enriching journey in the performing arts. The academy provides individualized attention and professional instruction as well as a variety of dance forms to complement their interests and abilities. This program provides a unique blend of formal ballet training and additional dance disciplines, from beginning levels through advanced classes featuring pointe work. The academy is open for enrollment anytime throughout the year. As an enhancement of their academy training, dancers enrolled in the Ballet Academy are required to take ballet and an additional dance style. Laurelhurst Dance Studio provides comprehensive dance education from preschool to adult and everything in-between! Like all PP&R activities, our program is open to all Portlanders and our neighbors in the surrounding region. Laurelhurst is home to Youth Ballet Academy and an Adult Recreational Dance Company. Both programs offer choreography and performance opportunities.
