THE NORTH WIND AND THE SUN

Once upon a time the North Wind and the Sun had an argument about who was the strongest of the two.

The Sun said: “I am” and shone in the sky.

The North Wind answered saying: “No, I am stronger” and blew strongly.

Their argument lasted long till one day the North Wind said: “We’ll find a passing traveller and we’ll try to make him take off his cloak. The one who will manage to do so will be the stronger of the two.

And so it happened. When a passing traveller appeared the North Wind began to blow strongly. The man wrapped his cloak tight around him. The North Wind blew more but he didn’t make it.

Then it was the Sun’s turn. The Sun started shining more and more till the passing traveller felt so hot that he took off his cloak.

Finally he took off his clothes and jumped into the nearby river.

Then the North Wind told the Sun: “Congratulations Sun! You are the stronger of the two!�
