8-12 June 2022 4th Learning, Teaching and Training mobility

During these days, our school hosted a meeting of 55 students and teachers from Romania, Austria and Cyprus. This was the last mobility of our Erasmus+ project and the final activity of this partnership.

On Thursday, 9th June 2022, we welcomed the teachers and students with dances, songs and a presentation of traditional costumes and weapons of our country in collaboration with the dance club of the Cultural Association of Souli, Patras.

Afterwards, traditional dances were taught by the dance teacher, Mr. Karagiannis.

Then, our European friends took part in drama activities and playground games organised by the teachers of Theatrical Education and Physical Education respectively.

In the afternoon, a visit was made to the exhibition centre of the Rio-Antirio Bridge, where a video presentation informed us about the construction of the bridge.

On Friday, 10th June 2022, a musical event was held with traditional musical instruments by former students of the school in collaboration again with the Cultural Association of Souli.

Then, there was an introduction to the history of Ancient Greece and its mythology with special reference to the myth of Heracles. This activity was completed with a craft. We made a bracelet with Heracles’ knot.

Then the Romanian and Austrian students participated in an activity which involved learning the Greek alphabet. With the help of 5th and 6th grade students, they were able to read simple Greek words and write their name.

At the same time, the students of Cyprus played a game with the wheel of emotions with 6th grade students.

In the afternoon, our friends attended an educational event entitled "Citizens of the Mediterranean" which took place at the Archaeological Museum of Patras and then went on a tour of St. Andrew’s Church and the sights of our city.

On both days, the Parents’ Association offered a buffet of food, sweets and drinks, indicative of their hospitality and cooperation with the school.

On Saturday, 11/6/2022, the acquaintance with our country and culture continued with a day trip to Ancient Olympia.

This visit left behind very positive comments and strong feelings. Further communication seems certain as friendships developed between the students, who found ways to maintain contact with each other.
