INDUSTRIAL ELECTRICAL TROUBLESHOOTING
Polaris Career Center has an electrical training lab with individualized learning stations replicating the typical components and operations of various industrial machines. Topics include troubleshooting and diagnosing systems using schematics, three–phase motors and control circuits, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) systems.
EPA SECTION 608 CERTIFICATION
HVAC industry technicians who maintain, service, repair and dispose of refrigerant-containing equipment must be certified under the EPA Section 608 of the Clean Air Act. Polaris instructors can help companies study, practice and sit for the Type I, II, III and Universal certifications.
HVAC PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
HVAC and Maintenance Technicians can train and work hands-on with a variety of systems at your location or in Polaris Career Center’s HVAC lab. Topics can include reading electrical schematics, sheet metal fabrication, troubleshooting and repairing residential and light commercial units.

The Adult Education Department must cancel courses that do not attain the required minimum enrollment. Full refunds will be issued when a class is canceled by the Adult Education Department, or previously made payments may be applied to another class. No refunds will be issued after the first class meeting. A $10 cancellation fee will be withheld from all refunds. Books and supplies/materials are non-refundable. If a student paid by check or cash, the refund will be disbursed within 45 days in the form of a Polaris Career Center check. If the student paid using a credit card, the refund will be credited within 45 days on the credit card initially charged. Any refund that totals $1 or less will remain on the student’s account as a credit balance.
1098-T TAX FORM POLICY
1098-T tax forms will be provided per Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Guidelines. The 1098-T tax form is an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) tuition statement which is intended to help students file their federal income tax return. Polaris Career Center provides an electronic version of the 1098-T tax form unless the student has opted out. In this case, a paper 1098-T tax form will be mailed to the student. The electronic 1098-T will be available by the end of January each year for the prior tax year within the Documents section of Achademix. Students need to keep the 1098-T tax form for their records. Students must contact the Administrative Coordinator by January 31 to receive a 1098-T form for all Continuing Education classes.
