Contact hours from PNCB or any source have a shelf-life of 24 months. Contact hours older than 24 months cannot be applied to your recertification application
In your PNCB portal, check your Dashboard each spring or anytime of the year. See which Pediatric Updates and how many pharmacology hours you still need to complete for your current 7-year cycle.

As a CPNP-AC, CPNP-PC, or CPNPAC/PC, applying two Pediatric Updates modules costs $0 during Early Bird Recert (11/1-30), and $20 during regular Recert (12/1-1/31).

When you want or need to apply contact hours to your recertification application, the hours must be already completed PNCB modules require a score of 70% or above for successful completion CE content from PNCB or any source must be applicable to the certification you hold.

We partnered with a respected healthcare-focused instructional design firm to ensure a high-quality, engaging learning experience. Here are more details, including our progress and what you can expect: The program will launch with two education programs, each resulting in a certificate for successful completion and contact hours. Each program offers an optional additional assessment to earn a microcredential and digital badge.
The first certificate program will be open to registered and advanced practice nurses, plus others interested in adolescent health, such as community stakeholders and interdisciplinary health care team members. Courses will focus on how the adolescent grows and develops, social and global factors impacting health and well-being, effective communication with adolescents and families/caregivers, and a video-based Teen Voices unit.
The second certificate will take a deep dive into wellness, sexual health, behavioral and mental health, and safety, risk, and injury prevention

Additional Recert information for PNCB certificants: Pediatric Updates are not automatically applied to your annual recertification application. If you want to apply a completed module to your recertification application be sure you do so between November 1st and January 31st to avoid a late fee. You will incur a late fee if enrolling during February. Modules completed more than 24 months from the date of Recert application submission will not be accepted for Recert enrollment
