SENTRAL AND THE NEW BEHAVIOUR PACKAGE

CLICK HERE TO REGISTER NSWSPC will host a webinar on how to use the new behaviour package in Sentral. Cathie Petrie and Lisa Miks from Sentral will present a walkthrough of the new behaviour package. A third webinar date TBA will address questions from schools. We are collecting questions as part of an evaluation survey we will send out to all participants. As many people can register from your school as you want. The event is free. Information and reminders are only going to those who show interest through registration so we don't spam others.

PRINCIPAL WEBINAR DATES FOR 2024 WITH SECRETARY MURAT DIZDAR

Dear colleagues I hope you have had a great start to an exciting school year, or for our Western division schools, are looking forward to your return. I know that many of you have been busy planning for the year ahead and I want to thank you for your leadership and all that you do for our students and staff I will be holding a number of live principal webinars throughout the year with Deb Summerhayes, our Deputy Secretary, Public Schools, and other guest speakers to take you through the latest updates and new information relevant to your work as principals and deputies. Deb and I will be taking you through more detail on some of the important pieces of work you know are a priority for Term 1 and will take your questions throughout the webinar. You will receive a calendar invite to the webinar from our School Communication team next week. To help us make sure these sessions are as useful as possible, please submit questions you would like answered and ideas/feedback you might have ahead of the webinar by emailing Schools.Communication@det.nsw.edu.au. 2024 principal webinar dates We have scheduled the principal webinar dates for the year to help you plan. If any dates need to change through unforeseeable events, we will give you as much notice as possible of the change. Term 1 Week 3 Tuesday 13 February, 3:30 pm Week 10 Tuesday 2 April, 3:30 pm Term 2 Week 2 Tuesday 7 May, 3:30 pm Term 3 Week 2 Tuesday 30 July, 3:30 pm Week 8 Thursday 12 September, 3:30 pm Term 4 Week 2 Thursday 24 October, 3:30 pm Week 4 Tuesday 5 November, 3:30 pm We will send calendar invites confirming the details closer to each date. SLIF PROFESSIONAL LEARNING SESSIONS

The SLIF live sessions cover all six stages of the SLIF Development Cycle, are NESA accredited and allow participants to undertake leadership learning alongside colleagues and peers. Stages 1 to 3 will be covered in Term 1, 2024. First live session

The Principal Leadership Learning (PLL) Program supports the growth of every NSW public school principal. It returns in 2024 with an exciting line-up of national and international educational and leadership experts who join the SLI in presenting the 4 Insights Series Keynote Editions, the 2 Insights Series Immersion Editions and our new 10 Insights Series Shorts webinars. Together the elements of the Insights Series offer opportunities for principals to connect with the latest evidence-informed theory and practice from the education and leadership fields, providing them with insights to enhance and strengthen their leadership effectiveness. A library of resources connected to the themes of the Insights Series, as well as all program information is available on the Principal Leadership Hub. The PLL Program is complemented by the Principal Leadership Learning Resource.

There are 3 elements to the 2024 program. The Insights Series Keynote Editions – 4 keynote presentations throughout the year featuring eminent voices from the world of education and leadership. The speakers will cover key themes aimed at motivating and inspiring the growth of school leaders while connecting them to the latest evidence-informed theory. The Insights Immersion Editions – 2 extended, multi-session series featuring webinars and discussions that will provide a deep insight into themes and an opportunity to apply thinking and learning to leaders’ school contexts. Attendance at all sessions will be required. The Insights Series Shorts – a new addition to the program which features 10 one-hour webinars linked to the Key Drivers of leadership effectiveness in the PLL Resource. Registrations for the PLL Program will open in Week 1, Term 1, 2024. Please visit the page for each Insights Series element for more information on speakers, dates and topics.

LEARN WITH GOOGLE (GOOGLE FOR EDUCATION)

Join the Australian and New Zealand Google for Education team for our 2024 Learn with Google webinars. These free monthly webinars focus on the classroom, with a range of topics to help you use Google for Education tools to positively impact learning and teaching. We also keep you informed about the latest features and updates in Google tools, and provide you with ideas for using them in the classroom. These 45 minute live webinars occur on the third Thursday of each month. If you cannot join us on the day, register to receive a link afterwards to view on-demand. SOCIAL MEDIA SELF-DEFENCE FOR SCHOOL LEADERS - CYBERMARVEL (LED BY NSW EDUCATION)

This webinar runs for one hour and can be used toward elective professional learning hours but is not NESA/TQI accredited. The session is designed for school leaders or aspiring leaders who want more knowledge and skills in managing social media in their school community and/or professional lives. The types of tech-based abuse experienced in educational settings is examined and evidence-based guidance for improving safety is explored. The webinar includes case studies that illustrate formal and informal responses to instances of tech-based abuse in schools, including eSafety’s reporting schemes. The webinar will help you to: • Identify common types of tech-based abuse targeting both schools and staff. • Consider the professional and personal impacts of tech-based abuse on those targeted, and the wider implications for staff retention. • Anticipate the threats associated with emerging technologies. • Build capacity to improve online safety across the school community through a three-tiered approach to setting up defences.
