ABOUT US The Portage College Public Legal Education (PLE) Program is a public service initiative offered in partnership with the Alberta Law Foundation.

Founded in 2001, the program offers educational sessions on legal and (social) justice related topics in the communities Portage College serves. Topics include: Consumer Law Criminal Law Going to Court (Court Processes) Employment Law Family Law Human Rights Law Indigenous Rights & Law Wills and Estates Youth Criminal Law

WE WELCOME PARTNERSHIPS Our PLE Program is always looking for opportunities to deliver workshops in communities in our service area.

If you have an idea for a PLE workshop in your classroom, organization or community, please email Shelley.Jackson@portagecollege.ca We will help you coordinate a workshop and/or connect you with resources.

Most sessions are free!

Public Legal Education is an approach to educating the community at large about rights and legal issues that affect their lives. It has links with community development, education and complements legal and advice services.
