Last month, our Parks and Recreation Department hosted a community input event to help shape the future of Ferguson Park. Residents were invited to vote on their top three choices from six proposed playground designs. We’re happy to share that the iconic Rocket will remain part of the new layout, which will also feature more shade and updated play features. This kind of community collaboration is key in shaping park spaces that truly reflect what Temple families want and need.

This July, the Temple Parks and Recreation Department is keeping the celebration going with a variety of fun, family-friendly events across the city. The month will culminate in our main event, "Play The Temple Way," on Saturday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Santa Fe Plaza. Attendees can enjoy games, interactive booths, and sweet treats while exploring the many programs and services the department offers To learn more about all the events happening throughout the month, visit templeparks.com/julyevents.

Lastly, a heartfelt thank you goes out to our Parks and Recreation team. Their vision, energy, and hard work ensure our parks and public spaces remain safe, welcoming, and innovative. From planning new amenities to maintaining the green spaces we all love, they play a vital role in keeping Temple a ib t d ti l t live, work, and play.

Synergy Park

We’re excited to share the completion of a major infrastructure project in one of Temple’s fastest-growing industrial areas Synergy Park. The newly opened roadway along Lorraine Avenue extends nearly one mile from Panda Drive to Bob White Road and is a key addition to the Southeast Industrial Park.

Construction began in October 2024 and wrapped up in under a year, marking a significant milestone for the area.

This $3.6 million project includes more than just a new roadway; it brings improved drainage, water, and wastewater infrastructure to support future development With utilities already in place and the road now complete, Synergy Park is ready for growth. This investment sets the stage for new jobs, expanded business opportunities, and continued economic development in Temple.
