Calvin College top achievers for 2013 Calvin College held its annual senior prize giving at the beginning of November. At the event the top academic and other achievers of the school were honoured with trophies and certificates. In each grade an academic team was announced.The new prefects and their leaders were also announced.
The top achievers for grade 8 were: Rachel Bengura, Angel Maphanga, Moleboge Kgasago and Tshegofatso Shabalala. The top candidate was Angel Maphanga. Moleboge Kgasago was chosen as the bell ringer for the coming year.
Grade 7: The top achievers for grade 7 were: Modirwadi Sekhukhune, Rebone Phetla, Makaziwe Jaca, Monallisa Changwara and Innocentia Rampedi (absent). The top candidate was Modirwadi Sekhukhune.
Grade 11: The top achievers for grade 11 were: Husna Gani, Harmony Sefiti, Precious Mapea, Nombi Mashaba and Mary-Ann Magowa. The top candidate was Harmony Sifiti.
Grade 10: The top achievers for grade 10 were: Moshiane Conny Riba, Salome Thato Moropa, Fortune Mashabela, Success Mokgetloane and Michel Matlala. The top candidate was Fortune Mashabela.
Abdullah Amod is the Calvinite of the Year. This award goes to the learner who sets an example and is worthy to act as an ambassador for the school. It is one of the school’s top annual awards.
Right: The Grade 9 top achievers were: Uwais Abdul Aziz, Mc Glory Riba, Boitumelo Mphogo, Adam Abdullah and Saidi Phiri. Adam Abdullah was the top academic achiever in grade 9.
The new prefects for 2014 are back: Bernedict Mokoena, Raymond Phili, Getrude Kganane, Terrence Lesese, Tholo Nkadimeng and Kholofelo Kgatle. Middle: Veronica Kgwete, Tinyiko Maphanga, Relebohile Majoro, Mary-Ann Magowa, Mashoto Tjatji and Tumiso Maboko. Front: Harmony Sefiti (deputy headgirl), Donald Mashigo (headboy), Tebatso Molapo (headgirl) and Nkosinathi Mabawa (deputy headboy).
