Happy New Year and a big welcome to the January edition of Pitlochry Life. Well, that’s the Festive Season over – we hope you all had a lovely time with friends and family. We have been busy this month getting everything ready for 2019. We have reviewed the predictions for Top Movies coming this year. Some are out now if you fancy a trip out, and others will be coming along later in the summer. Willie looks at sound-bars to add to your TV experience and Alan Clinch has been tackling fitness with heavy ropes. That sounded like hard work until I read the bit about only needing 3 minutes of exercise time! Ewan McIlwraith in the Pitlochry Tipple looks at Whiskies to watch out for in 2019, they could be a good investment, or purely to enjoy now. As it is much colder, gardening was a bit more restricted for me last month, so I took a look at mushrooms. I even grew some Shiitake ones in my airing cupboard for a stir fry! Speaking of food, we have some great restaurants and hotels offering fabulous fayre this winter, so wrap up warm and head out for a wee taste and a special treat. It’s Burns Night soon too. We have updates from several funds, and the opportunity to nominate good causes for the 2019 awards.
