Toucan Club is an annual end-of-year festival that celebrates creativity and community while paying homage to the venue ’ s history as ‘The Toucan Club’ nighclub in the late 80s. Toucan Club runs for fiveweeks and showcases a program of 60-min shows, 4 days a week, 3 shows a night, presented by both emerging and established independent artists. Held during the end of year time, our audiences are looking to get out, have fun, and enjoy the festive season. We are seeking engaging, celebratory, and entertaining works to join the 2025 program.

They must start and end at the times as specified in the booking contract.
Following the end of the show, all props and set items must be removed promptly for the next show
Opt for a set and props that are simple, lightweight, and easy to transport.
Level 2 Theatre level requires a minimum of 25 ticket sales per show. (see FAQs for more info pg18)
There are no minimum ticket sales in Level 1 studio.
Simple tech and set requirements
Be prepared to work with minimal rehearsal time with technical equipment.
Fringe audiences love high-energy, interactive, and accessible shows.
Applicants must provide professional-standard assets or the ability to produce one before the marketing deadline
Eye-catching hero images and engaging show blurb
Artists or teams must demonstrate experience and the ability to deliver a polished production. Emerging artists and new works are most welcome but must show a clear vision and preparedness to meet the demands of a festival environment.
No upfront costs for artists, such as venue hire fees or registration fees (minimum tickets per show may apply).
Shows in the mainhouse are provided a Lighting designer and operator, sound operator, and a stage manager at no cost, with wages covered by PIP Theatre.
The festival is promoted holistically, and artists receive support to enhance their individual promotional efforts.
We manage ticketing setup and manage inquiries, promo codes, and processing of any complimentary tickets.
Shows in the mainhouse are provided a 1 hour technical rehearsal slot. Shows in the Studio may be provided more time.
Be proactive in promoting your show via your draw in a crowd, as fringe festivals often rely o marketing. Ensure your promotional materials image, and social media assets) are eye-catchi professional.

You are required to provide a detailed tech scri cues and themes and a QLab file containing so you are unfamiliar with QLab, we can provide l assist you in preparing your file.

There is no minimum hire fee or up-front costs for performers.
Each show will be paid a negotiated rate, or percentage of ticket sales.

All productions and events at PIP Theatre are ticketed through the PIP Theatre website. Performers have access to ticket reports.
PIP Theatre will ensure performers receive net ticket revenue share promptly within 7 days of the last show.
Net Box Office is gross ticket revenue minus ticket and admin fees (excluding GST), which include but are not limited to; booking, credit card and event setup fees.

Situated in the heart of Milton, PIP Theatre offers a prime location for your production. Our venue is easily accessible from major highways and public transportation, making it a convenient choice for guests arriving from various parts of the city.

Ample parking and public transport is available for your guests. Savoir Faire parking complex is free on weekends and after 4pm. Alternatively, on street parking is available and the venue is 170m from a train station.
PIP Theatre is committed to inclusivity. Our venue is wheelchair accessible, with elevators in place to ensure that all guests can enjoy your production without any barriers.
Park Road is bustling with bars and restaurants. Opposite our venue is occupied by TukTuk and Arrivederci Pizza. Popular bars include Scratch and Mongrel.
Our fabulous terrace bar is operated by PIP Theatre staff before and after shows. The Bar opens one hour prior to the show and serves all your favourite beverages!
The theatre is our mainhouse venue, ideal for shows that draw a crowd. With cabaret-style seating in the front rows and tiered seating behind, it creates an intimate yet lively atmosphere. In this space, each show is allocated a one-hour tech session with our lighting designer and sound operator, so preparation is key! This time is for a cue-to-cue, not a full run, so ensure you have all necessary files and your script ready. If additional tech time is needed, you can request it through PIP. Please be advised to stage your show in this space requires a minimum of 25 tickets.

The Studio Theatre is a self-managed space, best suited for intimate performances, solo acts, developments, or small-scale productions. While it has simple lighting and sound capabilities, these are operated by someone from your team rather than a PIP technician. A key benefit of this space is that there are no minimum ticket sales, and you’ll have access to longer tech and rehearsal time. Perfect for productions looking for more flexibility in a close-up, immersive setting.

To book a date, a signed contract is required. Our team will guide you through the process should your application be successful.
PIP Theatre is committed to supporting artists by providing complimentary sound and lighting operators for Level 2 performances. To ensure our technical staff are fairly compensated, a minimum audience of 25 attendees is required. If this attendance threshold is beyond your reach, we encourage you to explore alternative options, such as our Level 1 studio space and tailored marketing packages. Please reach out to discuss how we can best support your production.
Our venue is equipped with industry-standard lighting and sound systems. Technical details will be discussed during the planning process. PIP Theatre will provide a lighting designer, sound designer and stage manager for Level 2. You are welcome to use your own designers and stage managers with notice. We do not provide a projection operator.
We have a suggested timeline for setup and a breakdown of 15 minutes. This can be discussed and finalised during the planning process.
