Here are a few of our highlighted accomplishments across our five program areas in 2024.

Leadership

Strengthened neighborhood leadership by appointing new members to the Board of Directors, bringing diverse expertise and perspectives to guide the organization's initiatives.

Demonstrated a continuing commitment to cultural development by pursuing a designation of Pioneer Square as a Creative District.

Advocacy

Advocated in partnership with the Seattle Parks Foundation to secure $5.3M in the 2024 Seattle Transportation Levy for betterment of Occidental Promenade between S. King St. and S Royal Brougham Way

Advocated for the addition of Pioneer Square to the City’s Stay Out of Drug Areas (SODA) legislation to reduce drug-related issues in public spaces

Business Development

Held four networking events, which included an end-of-year Neighborhood Celebration.

Secured funding from the City’s Office of Economic Development to develop an upperfloor office strategy to reduce current vacancy, improve perceptions, and find a marketing niche for our unique office space offerings.

Public Realm

Served as liaison between the Office of Waterfront and Pioneer Square businesses, residents, and stakeholders throughout the year-long Pioneer Square East West Pedestrian Improvements Project construction.

Conducted extensive stakeholder outreach and engagement, including hosting multiple stakeholder meetings, for the Occidental Promenade project.

Redesigned and replaced district-wide street pole banners to align with the new neighborhood branding and increased number of banners in the neighborhood

Communications & Marketing

Completed a neighborhood rebrand across all physical and digital assets, including a full overhaul of the PioneerSquare.org website to provide a more accessible, visitor-friendly online experience.

Enhanced First Thursday Art Walk marketing and promotion support, including creating a new landing page experience to promote neighborhood events, monthly email communications, and outdoor signage

Implemented a neighborhood-wide holiday campaign to promote foot traffic and small business sales through our Ornament Scavenger Hunt in December. Involving over 30 neighborhood businesses, we successfully gave out 25 handmade glass ornaments and 50 consolation gifts to participants.
