Pinangunahan ng Provincial Cooperative, Livelihood and Enterprise Development Office (PCLEDO), katuwang ang Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), ang Kooperatiba Para Sa Kabataan: Programa, Oportunidad na Pangkabuhayan (K-POP) noong ika- 28 ng Marso 2023 sa Provincial Auditorium, Capitol Compound, Lungsod ng Batangas.

Layunin ng programang K-POP na pukawin ang interes ng mga kabataang kalahok na maging negosyante na may high-end view sa paglikha ng mga trabaho, sa halip na sila ang mga naghahanap ng trabaho. Hinihikayat din nito ang mga kabataang negosyante na lumahok sa mga kooperatiba upang mas mabigyan sila ng mga pagkakataon makalahok sa mga proyekto ng pamahalaan. Kabalikat din ng programa ang Technical Education And Skills Development Authority (TESDA) na maaaring makapagbigay sa mga kabataang ng trainings at scholarship programs.

Batangas province tops DILG’s Good Financial Housekeeping Awards for 2022

MANILA—Batangasbased AnaKalusugan Partylist Representative Ray T. Reyes is calling on the Department of Health to allocate additional funds for hospitals in tourist areas.

“Our goal should be to enhance the overall tourist experience in our country and one of our priorities should be increased investment in safety, health, and social services,” Reyes said.

Reyes noted that despite the growing number of local and foreign tourists in the country, most of the tourist areas lack a complete medical facility.

“All of us have encountered stories where a tourist caught in a medical emergency would have to be transported outside of a tourist area just to get proper medical attention,” he said.

“If we want to further boost our tourism initiatives, it is imperative that we put more investment in our healthcare system,” he added.

Reyes said he made this observation especially during the Holy Week rush when AnaKalusugan Partylist set up first aid stations to help weary travellers.

In the province of Bulacan alone, in several locations in the municipality of Santa Maria and in the city of San Jose del Monte, Reyes said they were able to assist more than 3,000 people by giving emergency care and providing snacks and water.

LIPA City—The province of Batangas emerged on top of the list of the Department of Interior and Local Government’s Good Financial Housekeeping awards for the year 2022.

Of the five (5) provinces in Calabarzon or Region 4A, Batangas hogged the limelight followed by Cavite, Laguna, Quezon, and Rizal.

Meanwhile, all but one of the provinces’ four cities also garnered the top 3 slots in DILG’s GFH for cities and these are (1) Batangas City, (2) Lipa City, and (3) Tanauan City.

The fourth city of Batangas in Sto. Tomas City (STC) finished 19th in the

said category.

Bacoor City, Cavite City, Dasmarinas City, City of Imus, City of Tagaytay, City of Trece Martirez, and the City of Lucena rounded out the Top 10 slots.

The criteria used to pass the GFH are:

a) Most recent available COA Audit Opinion is Unqualified or Qualified for CYs 2020 or 2021, as of November 4, 2022; and b) Compliance with the Full Disclosure Policy -- the posting of financial documents in 3 conspicuous places and in the FDP Portal for CY 2021 2nd to 4th quarter and CY 2022 1st quarter posting period documents.

Aside from providing medical assistance during the Holy Week, AnaKalusugan Party-list said that they will continue to promote health and safety during this summer season.

The party-list group also put up emergency aid tents throughout the province of Batangas during the Holy Week.

“Medical services should be accessible, and we will continue to push for legislation that would allocate more funds to bring health services closer to the people and communities,” he added.

Ayon kay Local Youth Development Officer Nelbert Magbanua, 43 koponan ang kasali sa Basketball Under-22 na hinati sa anim na brackets.

“Ang top 2 teams sa bawat bracket ang maglalaro sa quarterfinals na hahatiin muli sa 2 bracket kung saan ang mangingibabaw na 2 koponan dito ang papasok sa semifinals. Ang magwawagi sa crossover semis ang maghaharap para sa kampeonato ng Mayor’s Cup 2023,” sabi ni Magbanua.

“In fact, there are existing organizations dedicated to helping media consumers spot telltale signs of fake news. Kung tutuusin mistulang sinanay lamang ang mga Batangueno magsuot ng face mask dahil sa laganap na amoy ng sulfur at lahar na humahalo sa hangin.

Hindi kinalauan, matapos na pumutok ang bulkang Taal noong Enero 12, 2020, ay siya namang pagputok ng Covid-19 pandemic partikular na noong December 29, 2020 kung saan sapilitang pinagsuot ng facemask ang buong sambayanan.

Wala nang naging problema ito para sa mga Batangueno na nasanay na’t magiisang taon na rin silang naka-face mask.

Port of Batangas passes arduous surveillance audit, secures 11th ISO QMS certificate

BATANGAS City—The Bureau of Customs-Port of Batangas here successfully passed the surveillance audit and secured its 11th ISO 9001:2015 QMS Certification after satisfying the international standard requirements for all its enrolled processes during the surveillance audit on 11 April 2023.

Foremost of which poured out from her officemates at the municipal government led by Mayor Joy Salvame.

UP obtains 5 highest grades

Results of the November 2022 Bar exams were released by the Supreme Court on Friday (14 April 2023) where 3,992 out of 9,183 examinees hurdled the Bar or just a passing rate of 43.47 percent.

Students from the University of the Philippines obtained the five highest grades, with Czar Matthew Gerard Torres placing first with 88.80, followed by Erickson Mariñas (88.76), Christiane Claire Cregencia (87.96), Andrea Jasmine Yu (87.77) and Kim Gia Gatapia (87.42).

University of San Carlos-Cebu’s Gabriel Baes placed 6th at 87.25, followed by San Beda College Alabang’s Luigi Nico Reyes, 7th, at 87.19.

Two other USC examinees placed 26th and 27th.

Other UP graduates in the top 30 are Jayvy Gamboa (13th, 86.77), Luis Gabriel Perez (17th, 86.55), Joji Mari Salaver (23rd, 86.24), Aaron Daryl Marquez (28th, 86.01), and Patricia Marie Ignacio (30th, 86.0).

Ateneo De Manila University graduates occupied the 8th to 11th, 16th, 21st, 24th, 29th, and 30th positions while Ateneo de Zamboanga’s Ar-rashid Taradji placed 14th at 86.68.

Also on the top notchers list are one graduate each from Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), Ilocos Norte, 12th; St. Louis University, Baguio City, 18th; University of Santo Tomas, Manila, 19th; Arellano University, Manila, 20th; Manuel L. Quezon University, Manila, 22nd; and Angeles University Foundation, Pampanga, 25th.

John Rey Saavedra, the Philippine News Agency’s Visayas Bureau reporter who is based in Cebu City, also passed the Bar.

Ateneo De Manila was the top performing school out of the 11 with at least 100 examinees (178 passers out of

184) and San Beda University was No. 1 among the 11 with first-time takers (161 passers out of 165).

Associate Justice and Bar 2022 chair Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa announced the results.

The oath-taking of the successful examinees will be at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City on May 2.

For the second time, the Bar went digital using laptops with an exclusive program, instead of the traditional pen and paper, and administered the exams in multiple testing sites nationwide.

Twelfth placer Jether Kakilala Corpuz from MMSU, a public law school graduate from Ilocos Norte, and a former information technology instructor at the AIE College, got a grade of 86.75 percent.

Of the top-performing law schools in the country, MMSU ranked fifth, garnering an institutional passing rate of 75 percent with 1-10 first-time takers.

Delighted with the results, MMSU President Shirley Agrupis on Friday congratulated the new Bar exam passers and their families.

She also expressed gratitude to the faculty of the College of Law led by its dean, Atty. Brian Jay Corpuz, for equipping and producing practice- and bar-ready graduates.

“Indeed, this feat only proves that MMSU is sustaining its stature as one of the best law schools in the country,” Agrupis said.

MMSU first posted a 100-percent passing rate in the 2020-2021 Bar Examinations and placed first in the roster of top-performing law schools with 11-50 examinees.

Two of its graduates were also hailed as exemplary performers. The university also emerged as a topperforming law school in 2018 and 2019.

Meanwhile, a local radio station manager of DZJC Aksyon Radyo Laoag Nick Natividad Malasig II, who never gave up on his dream to become a lawyer after failing in previous bar exams, finally did it in the 2022 test.

Malasig, also the newly-elected vice president of the Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative Board of Directors, was among the lucky 13 passers of the privately-run Northwestern University in Laoag City.
