GOOD FOOD VS BAD FOOD

MAIDA

DO YOU KNOW THE EFFECTS IT CAN CAUSE ON YOUR HEALTH ???

We enjoy eating food that is cooked in different ways. Indian cuisine has such variety of tasty food with lots of spices. Indian food is known for its spices. There are so many ingredients used in Indian kitchen. Here we are going to discuss about MAIDA. Maida or Refined Whear flour is one of the widely used ingredients in kitchen and mostly eated items in Hotels in the form of Kachori, Samosa, Pizza, Bakery products, Naans, Kulcha, Kerala Parota etc. Mostly of us use Maida to most of the foods as it gives a better texture and elasticity to the dish. But Is It worth eating any food which will give your food a better texture but at the same time it is harmful for your body??? Before proceeding further you have to know how Maida is manufactured - Maida is made from wheat.

Wheat seed has three parts:  Bran - where most of the fibre is.  Germ. It is the nutrient that sprouts in a

wheat plant.

 Endosperm. It is the largest part of the grain. Maida is prepared from only the endosperm, it does not contain any nutrients and contains only carbohydrate or sugar. Then it is bleached with benzoyl peroxide to form a white powder. To get the elasticity and refineness, a chemical called Alloxan is added. It is this process, which makes Maida very soft. This is a dangerous chemical processing. ** Benzoyl peroxide is banned in China and the European Union still it is been used by other countries. Here we have to focus on the Chemical Alloxan: You will be shocked to know where Alloxan is used. Alloxan:

To induce diabetes into rodents and other animal species, or the labotatory animals for testing medicines on them. Alloxan is a toxic glucose analogue, which selectively destroys insulin-producing cells in the pancreas (that is beta cells) when administered to rodents and many other animal species. This causes an insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (called "alloxan diabetes") in these animals, with characteristics similar to type 1 diabetes in humans. Alloxan is selectively toxic to insulin-producing pancreatic beta cells because it preferentially accumulates in beta cells through uptake via the GLUT2 glucose transporter. Alloxan, in the presence of intracellular thiols, generates reactive oxygen species (ROS) in a cyclic reaction with its reduction product, dialuric acid. The beta cell toxic action of alloxan is initiated by free radicals formed in this redox reaction. Alloxan is toxic to the liver and the kidneys in high doses. What will happen if you consume Maida on regular basis?

to a chemical reaction called glycation, a proinflammatory process that plays a role in a host of inflammatory diseases from cataracts to arthritis to heart disease. Maida may also lead to peptic ulcer and gall bladder disease. Maida consumption removes high amount of good quality protein in the process. Protein buffers the hydrocholric acid secreted by the stomach, and tends to protects the stomach from being ulcerated by the acid produced. IDEAL FOOD:

Maida is a slow poison. The important harmful effect of maida is that it increases the sugar levels as it has very high glycemic index. When blood sugar increases glucose builds up in the blood. When glucose increases in the blood, it gets into trouble

Replacing maida with multigrain flour - Whole wheat, millet, barley, would be the best option. Multi grain Dosa:

future generation, absence of maternal love and affection for own kids, future support of themselves, and many other personal worries and anxieties make women worried.

The following are feeling that usually come to the infertile women: Incompleteness in womanhood and motherhood: • Lack of personal and maternal happiness • Lack of self-respect and confidence • Damaged family and social relationship • Damaged personal relationships

There are multiple consequences of infertility which may include but not limited to societal repercussions, personal suffering, and stressful conjugal relationship. Many cases, assisted reproductive technologies, for example IVF, can create hope for many couples where treatment is available. This, many times, has created a disregard for the emotional aspects that couples experience day to day life which include nut not limited to distress, loss of control, agony, stigmatization, and a disruption in the developmental proper of adulthood. process where the women not being the biological mothers of the children, bear them in their wombs. Even if they are going for adoption and surrogacy which are difficult accept.

Social stigma: I. Endangered Relationship: Not only conjugal relationship is damaged but also relationship with friends and family members get spoiled. Friends and family members’ suggestions and guidance for treatment and alternative ways for happiness provide even more and more pain. For example, the synthetic estrogen clomiphene citrate may cause anxiety, sleep interruptions, mood swings, and irritability in women. It will be difficult for the doctors to identify reasons of physical issues and mental agonies.

In typical Indian orthodox, superstitious and conservative families and social values, infertility in women is considered to be inauspicious. The illiterate and less educated families in Indian rural setups still blame the women for being not able to conceive and give birth to children without knowing the biological aspects of fertility. Fertility can affect both men and women. Moreover, even they blame the women with respect to the future heir of the family to continue the generation. In many cases without verifying the actual reason of infertility, they event go to the extent getting their sons marry second time to get heirs for the families. This holistically affects feminine emotion and womanhood, and create selfidentity crisis.

III. Financial Worries: Infertility is associated with lots financial worries as the couple has to think about managing expenses of the various treatments. Based on the partners suffering from infertility, and the associated treatment processes, the expense differs from place to place. IV. Other medical worries: There are also cases where the fertility treatments which are expensive, fail. This failure redoubles the grief, agony, and distress. The distress becomes more severe for couples who are living the in developing countries and/or who are living in the middle class families in the developing or developed countries. Going for one treatment to another treatment also costs a lot. It is also difficult to know when to stop the infertility treatments. It is very difficult go for
