This project focuses on creating a residence for multi-generational family. The concept behind the abstract shapes originates from the INTERSECTION OF DIAGONALS, where a simple square is subtracted by other rectangular shapes cut diagonally creating a unique form that functions as both negative and positive space. The intersection serves not only as an aperture, but also a dynamic experience that harmonizes a ‘playful’ environment of the residence while enhancing its role as a symbol of multi-generational living. The diagonal, in this project, only uses increments of 45 degree angle in order to keept the simplicity.

Cioccolati Italiani is known for its exuisite flavors across the Italian Peninsula and is enjoyed in countries near Italy. The grand opening of the first chocolate shop in Cincinnati marks a celebration of a rich cholcolate heritage. In a city known for its dessert delicacies, including domestic brands like Graeters, Cioccolati Italiani offers a choice that brings new flavors and a fresh atmosphere. The shop’s space layout invites visitors through a small door on the right, guiding them through spaces that transition from the brand’s history to a cafe, a display area, and a shopping area. The project was conceived through an analysis of captivating views aimed at capturing the attention of Cincinnati residents. I chose to emphasize a shared public space, symbolizing a sense of community. In this context, I drew inspiration from a view of stairwell public space in Los Angeles, conducting a thorough study to integrate elements that would resonate with the community.
