Svetlana Smolina has performed with orchestras and given recitals worldwide with the New York Philharmonic at Avery Fisher Hall, Mariinsky Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Orchestre National de France, Salzburg Festival at Mozarteum, Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Ravinia Rising Stars in Chicago, White Nights in St. Petersburg, Russia, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Mikkeli Festival Finland, Ruhr Klavier in Germany, Moscow Easter Festival, Rotterdam Philharmonic, at the Stresa Festival, Hanoi Opera House, London’s Royal Opera Covent Garden, Tchaikovsky Conservatoire Moscow, and Rome’s Accademia Santa Cecilia.
Her discography includes a solo album, “Romantic Journey” and a recording Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. Both produced and recorded by Luca Rustici for L’n’R Productions/Universal Music. Other notable recordings include a Chopin album for iTunes, a Scriabin project on Pentatone, a live concert performance with Christopher O’Riley in Montana, and a live recording at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles for BCM+D records. Her performances have been broadcasted on NPR, WQXR, BBC, PBS, RAI, Kultura TV, and other major networks. Her recording of Stravinsky’s Les Noces with Valery Gergiev received an International Classical Music Award (ICMA).
Svetlana’s recent performances include a tour to China with the Dublin Philharmonic with Derek Gleeson, concerts with Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional Juvenil in Lima, Peru, at Carnegie Hall in NYC, in Singapore with violinist Lee-Chin Siow, at the Basel Casino with Charlie Siem, at CCK Symphony Hall/Buenos Aires in the “Best Pianists of the 21st Century series”, at the Classical Tahoe Festival with Maestro Joel Revzen, at the festival in Ushuaia/Argentina, and at Cremona International Summer Festival.
Svetlana collaborated in chamber concerts with Vadim Repin, Ida Haendel, Narek Hakhnazaryan, Kian Soltani, Geyhee Kim, Alexander Knyazev, Enrico Dindo, LeeChin Siow, Pavel Sporcl, Charlie Siem, Roberto Cani, Oleg Sendetsky, Kim Fisher, Julian Milkis, Dr. Subramaniam and many others. Svetlana’s most recent invitations included a New Year’s Eve Gala with Shanghai Philharmonic and with Harbin Symphony & Maestro Muhai in China, a recital at the Taihu Art Festival/22nd China Shanghai Interntaional Arts Festival at the Wuxi Grand Theater, duo concerts with Vadim Repin at NCPA Beijing, Shanghai Concert Hall, Shenzhen Concert Hall, Belt & Road International Music Festival, debut solo recitals at Dellarte Concert Series in Sao Paolo and Rio de Janiero, Brazil, a concert in Osaka, Japan with Kazuhiro Takagi, a recital in the Thessaloniki Concert Hall with Jannis Georgiadis, at the Megaron Concert Hall in Athens for the Piano Plus Festival, at the Burgos International Music Festival, Spain, at the Triumph Music Festival/ Kimmel Center Music Academy in Philadelphia, with the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, recitals in France at the Chateau de Valençay, at the White House in Leipzig, Germany, and a concert recording for Steinway & Sons at the LangLang/Black Diamond Limited Edition at Starý Kliž.
Svetlana is a frequently invited Artist for iPalpiti Festival of International Laureates after making her solo debut with iPalpiti Orchestra/Maestro Eduard Schmieder at Walt Disney Concert Hall where they recorded live Benjamin Britten’s Young Apollo to a high critical acclaim.
Svetlana Smolina’s awards include being a Grand Prix winner of Italy’s Citta Di Senigallia International Piano Concorso, Murray Dranoff 2 Piano, and many other competitions. Since 2011 she has directed the piano program at the Philadelphia International Music Festival and is also and on the piano faculty at Irvine Valley College and London Performing Academy of Music.

The Philadelphia International Music Festival – Italy (July 28 – August 7, 2025) is designedforstring musicians and pianists 13-19 years of age preparing for upcoming solo performances and competitions. This exciting new program will include: three private lessons, daily 30-minute workout sessions with an assigned faculty accompanist, daily hour-long solo performance classes, five hours of required daily private practice, and a week-ending Grand Finale Recital in one of the stunning performance halls in Cremona.
Students and families will both reside in Cremona, Italy, enjoying authentic Italian-style meals throughout the week-long program. While students are in training, guests attending the “Family & Friends” program will tour the surrounding towns via Luxury Motorcoach. Destinations include Venice, Milan, Verona, Lake Garda, Bologna and Parma! Students will join the traveling adventures at the conclusion of the Grand Finale performance on August 4th, 2025.
