Back to school-zone speed reduction WINNIPEG – With students going back to school, traffic will slow to a crawl once again in school zones starting Tuesday, September 1. Winnipeg police spokesman Constable Jason Michalyshen reminded drivers that the 30km/h speed limit in school zones, which the city established last year, will be in effect Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. until the end of June next year. He also said that police and mobile photo radar will be enforcing the speed limit.
