Pacquiao fights for the Philippines
LAS VEGAS – “Lalaban ako para sa bayan ko” (I will fight for my country) has been Manny Pacquiao’s recurring line leading up to his long-awaited welterweight boxing match with American Floyd Mayweather, but he will also be fighting for a payday that might reach over $100 million. The two fighters agreed to a 60/40 split in Mayweather’s favour of a total revenue that could reach a record $400 million world wide. The pay-per-view telecast of the fight on Saturday, May 2, will bring in most of that money with a fee of almost $100 for viewers in the U.S. Ticket prices in the 16,800-seat MGM Grand Garden Arena start at $1,500 with the See PACQUIAO p15
