Patientsare seeninorderof urgency with lifethreatening conditions being highest priority –not in the order in which you arrive. If your condition worsens, please go to the desk and let one of our care team know.
C O D E P U R P L E
If you hear an overhead announcement stating PMC is in a Code Purple status, it means Emergency Department treatment rooms are at capacity. This is due to an increased amount of critical and/or unstable patients arriving seeking treatment.


Emergency care is for more serious injuries/conditions and for severe or life-threatening conditions, such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe injuries or signs of a stroke.
EDs Treat Emergent Illnesses and Injuries, including, but not limited to:

• Serious Life and/orLimb-Threatening Conditions
•Obvious Broken Bones
•Coughing/Vomiting Blood
•Chest Pain

•Difficulty Speaking
•Head/Eye Injuries
• Poisoning/Overdose
•Severe Abdominal Pain
•Severe Burns
•Signs of Stroke: ‘BE FAST’ (Balance, Eyes, Face, Arms, Speech, Time)
•Shortness of Breath
•Sudden Loss of Consciousness
•Uncontrolled Bleeding
•Serious to Severe Bike/ATV/Vehicle Crashes and Collisions
•Severe Physical Abuse
