President’s Message
Belated Happy Heart’s day and Welcome summer! Once again, it’s a season of outing and beach wears! My heart flutters how you showered the membership with your all out support. Three significant events stand out. The way you moved virtual mountains so that we can muster enough participants of the paying Understanding PQF webinar. The daily dashboarding and the inspirational resilience of our Adviser PP Ma’am Nonette makes it happened. We earned a scoring point for this feat and more to it, is our awareness and intense seriousness in facing the incoming Philippines Qualification Framework transformation.
I was humbled by the tremendous membership financial support for the awards and prizes of the recently concluded Rizal province Accounting Quizbowl Here are your cream of the crop nextgen PICPA Rizalians who are beneficiaries of your cash donations. They will represent the province in the forthcoming STaR regional quizbowl this coming May 06, 2022. Let’s mentor them, inspire them and motivate them in the same manner we motivated our children. A chapter president’s motivational participation incentive scheme was introduced for this initiative; double the provincial award if and when a participant garner a regional award.

Third, be happier as well to the chapter’s support for the success of Southern Tagalog Area Region (STaR) 4sector Understanding PQF summit. The overwhelming preparations and engagement of the entire STaR region lead by its Senior Regional Director Norine was apropos to PICPA Professional Development Committee panelists lead by its Chairman Dr. Florenz Tugas. The summit crystallizes what needs to be done and the assurance by the Professional Development Committee that this is a One PICPA battle to breath life to our profession and their assurance of leadership in achieving the goal with a “Tone from the Top” from the Regional Director to the Chapter Presidents and on to the operating teams.
Professional development team has managed to conduct three webinars despite of the heavy burden of the tax season deadlines for CPAs. One in January and two in March. The membership team has successfully completed within the timeframe the SLM/HLM database clean- up with the all out support from the seniors of the chapter. At the same time five+ new memberships were initiated during the quarter. The chapter president’s membership referral incentive scheme was introduced in order to supplement the drive for increased membership base.
Treasury operations agile officers came forward to participate in the National Office initiated Quickbooks simulation and connectivity exercise and the continuous search for improvement in the operations and reporting processes and interface between the chapter and the finance section of the National Office.
True to the National office’s recognition to our financial and administrative compliance award, the Secretary department sustained timely reporting to the National Office. Fully supported the searched for a paid Certified Public Accountant verifiers for the National Election for national and local officials to support election watchdogs that will man the precincts. And without let up, supported various cascades from the Executive Director on IFAC matters and revised rules and procedures in membership, Quickbooks and donations reporting. And our Sectoral Representative in Public Practice, Sister Normie, with many of us on sickbay, stormed high heavens with her daily virtual prayers that we be guided and directed in our daily tasks and projects, heal those who are suffering and always be with a grateful and generous heart. And her prayers were granted. Your Sectoral Representative for Education, Dr. Sir Jun, displayed dexterity and leadership qualities for leading the Accounting Quiz Bowl project. Heartwarming was the full support from the senior officers (VP Robert, AVP Edes, VP Barbie, Secretart Melissa, Asst. Treasurer Sheila and the Secretariat) during the event proper.
As your President, with the inspiration that you generously give me, I will continue to steer your transformed officers and members with the end view of achieving PICPA’s mission-vision.
