Question For Last Edition: Knowing that it is the man's chromosomes that determines if the child is a boy or girl, why then are women victimized for inability to give birth to a male child?

Dami- The greatest test for a married woman is bearing children. Her entire life and happiness depends on this. A barren woman in Africa contest is regarded as unfulfilled not to talk of not having a male child.

Wumi: The ego of men will not allow them to accept the fact that they are the cause and determination of the sex of a child.

Mrs Onome: Men believe it is the job or should I say they see women as the one who carries the child and so such men expect the women to give them a son.

Mrs O.V: It's simply ignorance.

Stephen: Generally in Nigeria and Africa as a whole, preference is given to a male child and the father is expected to have a male child so as to retain and maintain the name of the family in generations to come because the female child will change her surname to that of her husband later on.

Who will be the Rivers State Governor come 2015?

To say that the race for governorship of Rivers state has never been this hot before now is an understatement. It is hot! It is smoking!! More than that, it is panning out as a do or die affair of the greatest order. Starting from the first republic, every election in this country has been a do or die affair in any case, not minding if it is an election into a union, or even appointments as VCs. Nigerians have never been known to want to leave office graciously. We are monarchial in our mindset. Elected positions are like a king's stool, and as you know, a king always dies on the throne, and always anoints his successor. This is perhaps why as Nigerians; we carry this sit tight mindset .

In Rivers State, the twist for 2015 is different from this however. Here, we have a powerful incumbent who is on the wrong side of the Federal might. That alone is an equation that we have never had to solve in Rivers state. The bloc votes of Rivers have always been cherished by whoever wants to be President of this nation. But now, that bloc vote is unlikely to be anything but bloc come 2015. The recent political crisis and the attendant balkanization of the state into largely APC and PDP divide has made sure of that.

As with all historical cases of balkanization, the whole never fractures nicely into even parts. There are crumbs and small nuggets that arise from the whole that can never amount to anything substantial in the end. And while we are still largely a PDC/APC state, there are still other parties.

Even within these two dominant parties, there are many different small groupings with diverse interests. These groups are already fighting to control the party organs in their different parties with a view to ensuring their emergence and ultimately their success in the political maneuverings that is already ongoing. If they don't gain control, they may take their followers to the numerous other smaller parties who are waiting for them. We will begin to see these movements after the primaries of PDP and APC are concluded.

While most of the Niger Delta is agreed on the fact the President Goodluck Jonathan will most likely be returned as president, the battle royal is pitched on who becomes the number one citizen of this very rich state. We can look at the conundrum from two distinct angles. One is the question of which party will win the governorship election in Rivers state come 2015. The fight is split between APC and PDC. The other parties know that they most likely don't stand a chance unless they present a candidate from heaven. This question is difficult to answer going by recent election results for the governorship races that have been decided, first in Ekiti and recently in Osun.

Adamawa is gearing up for the same decision in October and the result there will perhaps further cause a shift or rearrangement in the power equation.

In summary, it is a difficult call to make right now for Rivers State. Incumbency is strong, but Federal might is usually stronger. We can argue that Federal might didn't work in Osun state, but there is really nothing but political victory at stake in Osun State for federal machinery of power. In Rivers state, it goes beyond that, it goes beyond a lot of things that we can even call reasonable. Here we have a Presidency who not only

needs the bloc vote of Riverians, but also needs to ensure that the ruling party takes back what they have come to call their governor seat. Recall that Rivers state had been a PDP state from inc

eptio n. It was only the separating of ways between Governor Amaechi and the PDP that has given APC a backdoor stab at the governance of the state.

to field? Who will Governor Amaechi anoint to take over the running of the state for APC in 2015? This is the billion dollar question! Who will be the anointed party candidate? Today we have Magnus Abe the senator; Tele Ikuru the deputy governor;Otelemaba Dan Amachree the speaker; and a host of others lining up. There is also Tonye Cole, the business mogul. It is not clear now who will be the party candidate.

Going back the announced election timetable, elections have to be decided by February next year. It is strange that about 5 months to this election there is nobody that is ahead of the pack in APC. Perhaps they are waiting for INEC to fire the starter gun for electioneering to start.

If we cross to PDP, although there are many contenders, we can see the body language in that area and can say we already know at least a few of the strong contenders.

But strangely, Chief Nyesom Wike who looks like the strongest contender for the throne has not even declared his intention yet. It is not clear what he is waiting for, and why he is hesitating. Is there something that is holding him back? Apart from him, of course we have a few other people in the race. The only person that has come out clearly so far is Dumo Lulu-Briggs, the billionaire businessman son of the billionaire oil mogul Chief O.B Briggs. You can see his posters around town. Other names in that line up will include the Minister of Sport, Tammy Danagogo, the former Minister of States for Foreign Affairs, OdeinAjumogobia; Senator Thompson Sekibo; Tonye Princewill; and David Briggs to mention but a few.

It is said that there is an uneasy calm before the storm. Whenever the gate is opened for electioneering campaign, we are sure to be invaded by besieging politicians looking for our votes from councilors, to assembly men, to senators and House of representative members, to Governor and to President.

It is not always clear how Nigerians will vote. Whether our votes will count this time; is also still not clear. One thing though, Nigerians are getting more sophisticated and erudite in their understanding of politics and in the following of the issues. But will the numerous commentators on Nigerian politics find it in themselves to come out into the sun, at the risk of physical violence to their persons, and vote for their own choice of candidates? Or sit behind their electronic devices and rant on social media platforms? Can we trust the electoral commissions and the military and para-military forces managing the proper conduct of the elections to not be compromised? Can we even trust Nigerians to vote for people that will usher in the required progress, or are Nigerians going to vote according to the dictates of their bellies? Time will tell.

Kidnappers collects ransom, refused to release hostage and ransom carrier.

Unconfirmed reports have alleged that unknown gunmen, who abducted the mother of Rivers State Commissioner for Transport, Mr. George Tolofari, have held the appointed negotiator hostage after collecting a ransom of N5m from him. The development was said to have angered a former militant leader in Bayelsa State, Mr. Reuben Wilson, who played a role in the appointment of the negotiator to effect the release of Madam Tolofari, according to report from The Punch.

A security source said the request for assistance by the commissioner was sent to the National Coordinator of the LPCDI, Wilson. The security source, which craved anonymity, said, “Wilson called on one of his men and appointed him as negotiator to deliver the agreed sum of N5m. “On getting to the ocation, the gunmen collected the N5m and kidnapped him. Tai LGA to empower students Hon. Nbakpone Friday Okpe ,the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Tai Local Government Area, has assured the National Union of Tai Students of compulsory bursary payment from August 2014.

This was made known by the Special Adviser to the Chairman on Education, Mrs Blessing Nbale during a courtesy visit of the union to the Chairman in Tai Local Government Area recently, saying the bursary was to assist the students in their various area of academic pursuit.

Nbale said that, the chairman restated his leadership support to the students being a pioneer member of the union, adding that the Chairman would always give financial and moral support to help in the development of the students.

Speaking during the visit, The National President of Tai Students Union (NUTS) Comr. Nuka NeebeeAkekue on behalf of the chapter presidents praised the Chairman for considering the students in his programme, adding that, the students would always support the chairman's political ambition.

The paramount ruler andNyenwe-Eli of Oginigba Community, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Eze G.B. Odum (JP), has expressed his thrill over the recent elevation of the paramount ruler of Mgbuesilaru Community, Eze EjikeWali to a Second Class traditional ruler by Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, describing the gesture as a demonstration of the love the governor has for the people of Ikwerre ethnic nationality.

Eze Odum, who stated this in an interview in Port Harcourt thanked Governor Amaechi for the gesture, saying, the elevation of the Mgbuesilaru stool by the governor had brought to three the number of stools so elevated in recent times within the Evo clan, saying, the monarch's elevation had made it possible for the three kingdoms in Evo clan to now have Second Class stools. “That alone, gladdens my heart, as it a strong indication that Governor Amaechi is a true illustrious son of Ikwerre land and a principled and dynamic leader”, he said.

Amaechi: Police treats my supporters as criminals

Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State has bitterly condemned the gross injustice his supporters were being ubjected to and treated like criminals by the Police in the state.

Speaking on the recent arrest of the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Omuma Local Government Area of the state, Mr Emeka Wogu, the governor said his supporters have become arget of arrest and torture by the Police. The governor who poke through his media aide, Mr. Dave Iyofor castigated the arrest and alleged torture of the council boss.

Wogu who narrated his ordeal in the hands of the Police, had alleged that he was handcuffed, tortured and treated like a common criminal. He said he was accused of allegedly ordering his loyalists to destroy billboards bearing posters of President Goodluck Jonathan in his council. Wogu said “Heavily armed policemen numbering over 40 to 50 dressed in war gear came to arrest me. At that point, I was told by one of hem that I was under arrest. They handcuffed me, tortured me and dragged me into their vehicle and took me to old GRA Police Station and bundled me into a cell with common criminals and later transferred me to SARS around 2a.m. and ocked me up in the midst of over 150 armed robbers. The cell was too full that the inmates couldn't even find a place to lie down.” The caretaker committee boss, who denied the llegation by the Police, added that he was considering legal ction against the Police.

“No petition was shown me when I met with the Police Commissioner. All the commissioner said to me was that he got a report that I ordered that the President's banner be destroyed. I want to say that the plan was to remove me or ntimidate the party, harass, cow or remove me from the scene or some time. I want to say here that is totally unacceptable. I m consulting my lawyers to seek redress. It has also impacted on my person. I feel so terribly humiliated”. Further developments on the case are yet to unravel.

Digital Broadcasting: Rivers Set To Beat 2015 Deadline

A doctor, a Pharmacist and another person — a range of persons who had primary contact with the late Dr. Ikechukwu Sam Enemuo, the first Ebola victim in Rivers State, have been quarantined after exhibiting symptoms of the virus.

The results of their tests are however still being awaited. The late doctor Emenuo's widow, who has tested positive to the virus, is receiving treatment in Lagos. Dr. Sampson Parker stated this in an update on the outbreak of Ebola in Port Harcourt.

Dr. Enemuo contracted the virus and died on August 22 in Port Harcourt. He became the sixth Nigerian to die of the virus after secretly treating a Nigerian official of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Mr. OluibukunKoye in a hotel in Port Harcourt. Koye, who contracted Ebola after having primary contact with the Index case in Nigeria Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer, escaped from quarantine in Lagos where Dr. Enemuo treated him. While Koye is free of the virus, Dr. Enemuo, Chief Medical Director of Samsteel Hospital in Rumuokoro, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, died of the virus.

He was the third medical doctor to die of the virus. The commissioner said 50 among the 200 people on the contact-tracing list are classified to be high risk while 60 of them could not be reached even via telephone. Some of them, he said are people who had direct contact with Dr. Enemuo at his hospital after he contracted the virus. RIBASA Rejects Freight Rates Disparity At Lagos, Eastern Ports

The Rivers, Bayelsa Shippers Association (RIBASA) has vehemently kicked against the freight rates disparity between the Lagos and Eastern Ports in Nigeria. Airing its grievances in a paper, the association represented by its spokesman, Mr. Sam Epela, during a sensitization meeting held between officials of the Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC), with other stakeholders n Port Harcourt Epela said the council should also ensure that export trade ooks attractive as well as to make shipping activities favorable to the Nigerians in the Maritime sector.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Shippers' Council (NSC), Hassan Belo said the visit was to further enlighten them on the new role of the council as the commercial regulators of the ports in the country. Bello assured that the council would also encourage local operators to own ships, adding, “If we have indigenous carriers, it will boost the nation's portfolio, even if we cannot own vessels, at least we can President”.

He disclosed that since their appointment as the commercial regulators of the ports, they have been consulting with stakeholders including the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), the Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), the Nigeria Customs Services among others for a better service delivery.

Rivers Scholarships in 2013 gulped 6 Billion Naira Noble Pepple The Executive Director of the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA), Mr. Noble Pepple has said that over N5 billion was spent on the Governor's special overseas scholarships while local scholarships, including the Greater Horizon opportunities (GHOP) programme gulped about a billion Naira. He disclosed this at the presentation of the 2013 Annual Report of the agency in Port Harcourt Pepple, saying that 312 new scholarships with greater focus on medical and health-related disciplines were awarded, stressing that 238 of these were undergraduate students while 74 were postgraduate students.

According to him, “Of these, 149 travelled to their study destinations in 2013, bringing the total number of students studying overseas to 1,072 by the end of 2013”.

He further said that higher consideration was given to medical students applying to study at post-graduate level, noting that of the 74 post-graduate awarded in 2013, “scholars in mechanical and health sciences took up 20 places.

Pepple said, 11 physically-challenged students also graduated from Nottingham Trent University in the United Kingdom with Daniel Nlemogu bagging a First class Honours Degree in law, while Betty Odema, another physically-challenged student won the Vice Chancellor's award for outstanding personal achievement and commitment.

He also indicated that over N22 million and N11 million were spent on the partnership Development (Young Einstein/PIND) Empowerment programme and allied charities, respectively while the graduate work experience placement scheme gulped over N20 million.

Similarly, over N3 million was spent on the Rivers State University of Science and Technology Agriculture Students Scholarship Scheme.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State Chapter has said that the power situation in the country today under President Goodluck Jonathan's administration is the worst state the nation has ever seen. The Party said despite sinking billions into power reforms, there was nothing to show for it.

The party citing a new report by the international sustainable energy charity -Ashden which showed Nigeria as the highest number of citizens without electricity in Africa, accounting for about 10 per cent of the total 1.3 billion people in Africa who are without electricity.

Kalabaris for Rivers 2015 Guber Seat

Kalabari Enebate, the aegis of all political groups in Kalabari Kingdom of Rivers State, has said, Kalabari's governorship agenda would not be compromised with any political party or politician come 2015 elections. The chairman of the group, Chief Festus A. IgbikiAlabo in an interview said that the decision not to compromise the Kalabari project was reached at a meeting of all the political groups in Kalabari Kingdom.

According to him, Kalabari people were ready to resist any politica maneuvering to deny the Kalabari the next governorship seat in th state. He also unfolded the group's plan to conduct in-house screening for all aspirants into various elective positions to enable the group present credible and God-fearing candidates to the electorate.

Chief Alabo called on the rest of the Rivers people; especially the upland people to support the Kalabaris for the 2015 governorship election, saying Kalabaris have been supporting other ethnic groups with their numerical strength and resources without ethnic bias.

He recalled that, late Marshal Harry in 1999 supported Dr. Peter Odili to be governor against his brother, Ebenezer Isiokariari without ethnic colouration.He also recalled that late Harry died in the struggle to make an Ikwerre person, Chief Sergeant Awuse governor in 2003, adding that such heroic gesture needed to be extended to the Kalabaris by other ethnic nationalities in the state in 2015.

Chief Alabo called for support for President Goodluck Jonathan's re-election next year, hoping that President Jonathan as a son of Niger Delta and South-South would get the total support of his people, despite the grievances against him. He advised politicians to shun politics of acrimony and violence, as well as guide their utterances against their political opponents.

Bayelsa Govt Wants NCCT to Develop Local Content on ICT to Strengthen Communication Infrastructure across the Nation Bayelsa State Government on Monday 15th September 2014, urged the National Council of Communication Technology (NCCT) to focus more on the development of Information Communication Technology (ICT) local content towards strengthening ICT infrastructure across the country. Governor Seriake Dickson stated this in Yenagoa, while declaring open the 3rd regular meeting of the NCCT, holding in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Communication Technology and the Bayelsa State Government with the theme, "Mainstreaming ICT in National Development: Moving from Talk to Action." He attributed the under-development of local industries to the over-dependence on the importation of software and hardware into the country, which he noted has inhibited the growth of domestic economic opportunities as well as capacity building.

Accordingly, he enjoined members of the council to deliberate extensively on broadband download performance, development of ICT in governance to promote accountability and efficiency as well as networking with major ICT companies.

Bayelsa Govt Laments Drops in Oil Revenue From FAAC The Bayelsa State Government has said, the state had a shortfall in revenue of about N2bn from the federation account for the months of July and August, 2014. Governor Seriake Dickson, who stated this at the monthly transparency briefing for the months of July and August at the Banquet Hall in Yenagoa, explained that, the trend has been consistent for the past 2 years. Giving a breakdown of the financial transactions of the state, the Finance Commissioner, Mr. Duate Iyabi declared N3.6bn as the balance of funds available as at the end of August 2014. He explained that out of a gross inflow of Henry Seriake Dickson N14.9bn from the federation account, including statutory allocation of N3bn, derivation was Governor, Bayelsa State N10.1bn and SURE-P receipt of N1bn, only N12.5bn accrued to the state as net inflow after FAAC deductions of N2.3bn. Other inflows comprise an IGR of N710m for the month of July, which is about N40bn lower than the previous month, refund from cassava project loanrepayment -N487m, while funds from other sources stood at about N1bn. On deductions, bond repayment gulped N1.2bn, a refund of N392.8m as over payment of 13% derivation indices from November 2006-June 2010, which is the 34th out of 72 installments, in addition to the commercial agricultural credit schemes 1and 2 amounting to N203m. Others include, the refund of arrears of derivation revenue to Akwa Ibom's Iro Ekanga Oil Field of N131m, over payment to Bayelsa State EA oil N170m and The Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson has approved the foreign loans of N20m. Social impact of Ebola crisis begins to kick in as Churches serve 'Holy Communion' in disposable cups

“We are one body…because we eat from one loaf of bread… and drink from one cup…” This may not be so anymore.

T

he practice of Holy Communion whereby Christians like to enact the 'Last Supper' said to have been rites performed by the founder of their faith – Jesus Christ, during the last meal he had with his disciples before he was crucified, is well known.

In its original form, after serving bread (usually strips of Wafers or unleavened bread) that represents the 'body of Christ' from a plate, a sip of wine symbolizing the 'blood of Christ' is taken from a special cup known as the Chalice. This is done in turn by members of the congregation, passing the cup from one member to the other or in many instances; the wine in the chalice is served by officiating Ministers of the Church to the congregation one after the other.

But with the knowledge of the transmission of Ebola Virus, where contact with body fluids including saliva is one of the routes; sharing of one cup, for whatever reason including religion, may no longer be tenable. Moreover, as responsibility for personal protection in this matter has been passed to each individual, people are bound to act in ways that would guarantee individual security and safety. And so, if people have to associate even for religious reasons, alternative means of doing so have to be found, such that while we are satisfying such spiritual needs, personal well-being of individuals are not compromised.

One church in particular, Christ Church, Port Harcourt is said to

have done just that. An eye witness account of events of Sunday the 7th of September, 2014 noted that 'plastic disposable cups' were used to serve the 'holy communion wine' instead of the ubiquitous Chalice as it had been the tradition. “Was he going to rape me”, I thought wildly as auncountable thoughts zapped n my head;“how, where and when did I and myself in such a landmine”?

Then the most unsettling thing happened, my whole being was on fire as I went hot all over, even with the sense of oreboding my brain kept emitting.

As if sensing my body's rhythm, he eciprocated kissing me as passionately as he could yet ever so gentle and when I'd just decided to give in to my fate and et him do as he pleased, seeing I was at his mercy, he abruptly stopped and pulled back.

I wasn't trying to molest or sexual assault you but..” were the last words he said walking out of the room eyes all dim and aced with intense passion .This was just beyond me .. What the heck was going on?

as it just me or had I taken leave of my senses? How did I go from being extremely livid at this fellow to frantically earning for him, his presence, his conversation, his smile, his warmth ,all of him– a total stranger? What had come over me? For Petes sakes, I had a man! I told myself, as my mind strayed to Chinda for the first time in what seemed like ages in the past twenty our hours, he seemed to be a relic from my past and I couldn't help ut feel very guilty. Oh God, I loved him or so I thought. Surely I wasn't one of those women typecast as fickle minded fishes- as women were generally termed in Africa, who were quickly swayed motionally by little nuances tossed our way by the men folk.

YOUTHFULLOVE AND EMOTIONALATTACHMENT Your love for another cannot be defined by the highs and lows of romantic excitement, but is dependent on and rooted in the commitment of your will for another.

Genuine Love: In contrast to popular notions, genuine love is an expression of the deepest appreciation for another human being; it is an intense awareness of his or her needs and longings for the past, present and future. It is unselfish and giving and caring. It is a commitment of the will. It is a sacrificial responsibility towards a person to take a good care of him/her. It is a selfless desire to work for and bring out the good in the other person. This kind of love is not just what you fall into (i.e. it just happens on the spur of the moment), you grow into it, and that process takes time. One cannot love an unknown object, regardless of how physically or sexually attractive or sexy it is. Your love for another cannot be defined by the highs and lows of romantic excitement, but is dependent on and rooted in the commitment of your will for another.

You need to know your emotional state as you relate with the opposite sex. Avoid the danger of emotional bonding. If you notice that you are already bonded with a person of the opposite sex, follow the following steps to handle it.

Many youths mistakenly view love as romance, intense good feelings, lust, emotional pleasures, sex, fantasy or sexual and physical attraction towards another person. Real love transcends a feeling of romantic excitement. It goes beyond intense sexual or physical attraction. It exceeds the thrill of having “Captured” the object of your “toasting”. These are emotions that are unleashed at first sight, but they do not constitute real love. These emotions are selfish because they are motivated by our own gratification (a desire to fulfill a need). They have little to do with the new lover.

Such a person has not fallen in love with another person; he has fallen in love with romance!

For better clarity and understanding, we will like to define some terms: 1.

Physical Attraction: This is a pull or appreciation one feels or has towards another by reason of the other's appearance, dressing, height, behaviour, achievement, intellect, speech, abilities/talents etc.

This attraction can make one desires the company of the object of attraction or pursue a relationship with him or her. Physical attraction is normal between the opposite sexes. It is not a sin.

Though it can generate into a sin if it is fueled by lust.

Lust is the desire, feeling or thought of always seeing the opposite sex as a sex or romantic object. One of the best ways to overcome lust is to expose it. Tell somebody who can talk you out of it.

Falling in love or being in love: This is being romantically excited about an object or a person.

Emotional Attachment: This is bonding that gradually results from close and regular interaction or spending a lot of time with the person of the opposite sex.

Let us consider now the causes of emotional attachment and the effects on a youth.

Causes: 1. Physical attraction, 2. Spending a lot of time together/often doing things together such as talking, chatting, working, etc. 3. Using suggestive and flirting words, mails and text messages, 4. Regular physical contact/touches, 5. Giving or receiving special care, attention or compassion from a person 6.

Exchanging of gifts and cards. 7. Dating 8. Secret admiration 9.

Sex.

1. Be true to your feelings and acknowledge it for what it is.

Problem arises when you deny your feelings and refuse to acknowledge it. Ask yourself questions: am I getting specially drawn, possessive and thinking often of his person? Do I get excited looking forward to meeting him/her and do I find it difficult to part from him/her. Am I making special effort to impress him/her? Am I giving him/her special attention? Am I becoming emotionally dependent on him/her? Do I feel lonely without him/her even when there are others around me?

2. Don't overestimate your ability to control your emotion.

Every person has his emotional limit i.e. a breaking point; at which it becomes difficult to control your emotion once you exceed it. Don't encourage things that promote emotional attachment and deceive yourself thinking that your emotion can't be involved. Don't buy into that lie.

6. Set boundaries and limits for yourself to avoid future emotional bonding.

7. Stop all the activities you do together that promote emotional bonding. You may have to stop seeing each other or practically separate from each other. You may need to seek the help of a Christian counselor.

In conclusion, youthful romance is an exciting part of growing up, but it seldom meets the criteria for the deeper relationships of which successful marriages are composed. An important issue of life like marriage is not supposed to be based just on romantic affection. Make no important, life-shaping decisions quickly, impulsively or by the emotion of the moment, and when in doubt, stall for time. Ask yourself once again, “is it the real thing I am getting into or is it just a passing romantic excitement”? Time will tell.

3. To clarify your thoughts ask yourself the following questions: Am I ready for a marital relationship? Am I at a stage in my relationship with this person when I should be emotionally bonded? Is this the right person I should be emotionally bonded to? Has the person proposed for marriage or say, 'yes' to your proposal? Is it the real thing I am getting into or is it just a passing romantic excitement?

4. Pray about it; pray for emotional stability and control and break the bond. Meditate on appropriate scripture.

5. Meet the person you are getting emotionally involved with and humbly and sincerely discuss it with the view

Effects: Once you get emotionally attached to somebody, you develop a soft/blind spot for him/her. Correct assessment/judgment of the person's character, flaws or weakness becomes very difficult. This is why some say, “Love is blind” You need to realize that you can develop emotional bonding with somebody you are not even physically attracted to.

Closeness and spending a lot of time together are the basic chemistry needed for emotional bonding. When you are emotionally bonded with somebody, it is difficult to make sane judgment about the person. Your estimate of the person is likely to be clouded.

This reaction comes as the Confederation of African football (CAF) searches for a suitable country to stage the 2017 edition of the showpiece event after initial host Libya pulled out due to persistent crisis in the country.

Nigeria has hosted the Nations Cup twice, solely in 1980 and alongside Ghana in 2000. Dolphins FC manager Stanley Eguma is hoping his club continues its good run of form as action in the GLO Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) resumes.

Squash Championship suspended because of Ebola Fears

The Nigeria Squash Federation has said it has decided to suspend the African Senior Squash Championship which the country was billed to host due to Ebola Virus Disease outbreak in parts of the country. Nigeria was scheduled to host the Squash Federation of Africa backed tournament featuring top squash players from over 15 countries from October 3 to 9. According to the Secretary-General of the federation Udokang Etim, the federation wants the Ebola scourge to be at the barest minimum before hosting any competition.
