onozca a Gina y Suzanne quienes comparten el sueño de proveer a la vibrante comunidad de Bahía con un servicio de biblioteca móvil. Ellas vislumbran un buen repertorio de libros en español e inglés para compartir con los niños de Bahía, así como libros en español que versan desde labores hogareñas hasta astrología para la comunidad de adultos. Suzanne es bibliotecaria jubilada y debido a su amor por los libros, le gustaría ofrecer ese privilegio de leer a la gente de Bahía. “Lo que me inspiró a hacer esto, fue un joven de la comunidad que me preguntó si en una biblioteca móvil él tendría que pagar por la renta de un libro”. Gina, fundadora de un jardín comunitario, anhela enseñar música y arte a los niños de Bahía. Ella tiene numerosas ideas de las muchas actividades que podrían ayudar a los niños a prosperar y aprenden mientras se divierten. ProJect Book Movil - a dream in action: Two women are bringing a mobile library to Bahía.
M
eet Gina and Suzanne who share the dream of providing the vibrant community of Bahía with a mobile lending library service. They envision an assortment of Spanish and English books to lend to the children of Bahía as well as Spanish books for the adult community ranging from homemaking to astrology. Suzanne is a retired library technician and because of her love of books, she would like to offer that privilege to read to the people of Bahía. “I was especially inspired to do this” she said, “when a young boy from the community asked if having a mobile library meant he would have to rent a book.” Gina, founder of
a community garden, aspires to teach music and art to the children of Bahía. She has a plethora of ideas for many activities she can do with the children to help them thrive and learn while having ‘fun’ at the same time. You have probably seen the colorful boxes stationed at the DAWG Center, Bazar y Librería El Manantial, La Feria, Farmacia Ibarra, and the Marino Ballena Restauant in Uvita and the Church in Bahía, inviting you to give a donation (books or money) towards ProJect Book Movil. An ancient proverb comes to mind: “It takes a whole village to raise a child.” n
