STATEMENT The Starbucks coffeehouse in Oslo should represent a new store paradigm. My proposal is an iconic autonomous core building consisting of the flagship store. It is a place where customers, visitors and the community of Oslo will meet for a spectacular Starbucks cafe experience. Tomorrow’s Starbucks store design has to be user and environment friendly, adopting the local culture and reflecting the unique characteristics of each neighborhood. Still, my Starbucks coffeehouse is not just a place that offers great coffee. The variety of spaces - including open areas, standing tables, lounge furniture, exhibition area, library, and training offices - will be designed to meet the needs and expectations of as many Starbucks customers and employees as possible. It will be a place where customers and employees feel comfortable and productive, a store that creates memories.
