Music Festival PGVIM

Bangkok, Thailand

The Princess Galyani Vadhana International Music Festival (PGMF) was inaugurated in 2020 by the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music as a platform to honor Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana’s vision of promoting classical music, supporting emerging artists, and enriching Thai society through cultural engagement. The first edition, titled Classical Music Next Normal, responded to the global disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the resilience and adaptability of classical musicians. Since then, PGMF has evolved into a dynamic annual event that bridges tradition with innovation, and performance with social impact. The festival is built on three interwoven pillars. The Resident Artist Performances bring together world-class performers from Thailand and abroad, including recipients of the HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana Fund for Classical Music Promotion. These concerts offer exceptional artistry while serving as inspiration and professional models for young Thai musicians. The Call for Artists program invites young artists to propose creative performance projects in response to each year’s theme. Selected finalists are mentored in project development, presentation, and audience engagement before presenting their work in a public showcase. Meanwhile, the Business Model Ideation Academy provides a platform for young professionals to explore real-world challenges in the classical music industry by developing feasible, sustainable solutions—bridging musical creativity with entrepreneurial thinking. In its recent editions, PGMF has expanded its thematic depth, engaging topics such as legacy, innovation, partnership, and the evolving role of the artist in society. Guided by the motto: Music in Dialogue. Artists in Growth. Futures in Motion. PGMF continues to empower the next generation of classical musicians while strengthening the cultural landscape of Thailand.
