Princess Galyani Vadhana International Music Festival begins In 2020 as part of a new project initiation by Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music (PGVIM) which aims to continue its mission in realizing Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana’s vision in promoting and supporting classical music in Thailand. The inauguration of the festival happens between November 23 to 25, 2020 under the theme “Classical Music Next Normal.”
The next normality of classical music is the underlying question that every classical music institution, organization, and musician is currently facing. With the effect of the 2020 pandemic and the ongoing plan to promote a creative economy in Thailand, this is the time to explore ways of classical music happening and to make it sustainable for every involved stakeholder. Thus, the activities during the festival will be divided into two parts in connection to the aim – Festival Performances and Start-Up Competitions.
