ALEC SILBERBLATT PERRY

Alec grew up in Forest Hills. He was introduced to theater by his parents and grandmother, going to The Pittsburgh Playhouse, Prime Stage, and Pittsburgh Public Theater. He took acting classes at The Public.

He won the Shakespeare Monologue and Scene Contest. His first professional gig was in Rabbit Hole at Pittsburgh Public Theater. Alec’s adaptation of A Tell-Tale Heart was commissioned by The Public in 2020. The amount of gratitude he feels is astronomical.

MARYA SEA KAMINSKI DIRECTOR

Marya serves as the Artistic Director of Pittsburgh Public Theater. She is an award-winning director, writer, and producer, the founding director of Public Works Seattle, and a founding co-artistic director of the Washington Ensemble Theatre. She has taught theater, solo performance, and creative writing across the country and internationally, and holds degrees from UPenn and the University of Washington.

JENNIFER J. ZEYL SET DESIGNER

Jennifer (she/they) is a Seattle-based scenic designer, stage director and producer, and is the Artistic Director of Intiman Theatre where she oversees an Associate of Arts Degree in Technical Theatre for Social Justice. She is a founding Co-Artistic Director of Washington Ensemble Theatre and winner of The Stranger Genius Award in Theatre and four-time Gregory Falls Best Scenic Design recipient. Jennifer is grateful to receive funding for her generative touring work from many organizations.

Jennifer holds degrees from the University of Rhode Island and University of Washington. Member USA 829.

ANNMARIE DUGGAN LIGHTING DESIGNER

Ms. Duggan is excited to be making her debut for Pittsburgh Public Theater. She has designed more than 400 productions in her career. She is a Professor and Head of Design/Tech and Management at the University of Pittsburgh teaching lighting design and stage management. Claudia Jenkins Martinez is a sound designer and educator based in Dallas. Recent works include: I Wanna F*cking Tear You Apart (Stage West), Steel Magnolias (Pittsburgh Public Theater), Trouble In Mind (Dallas Theater Center), Hamlet (Shakespeare Dallas), Stede Bonnet: A F*cking Pirate Musical (Theatre Three), The Sound of Music (Dallas Theater Center, Associate Sound Designer). Kelly is excited to be back with Pittsburgh Public Theater. Indigenous Land Acknowledgement* The ground on which we stand, at the confluence of the Allegheny, Monongahela, and Ohio Rivers, is home to the Seneca People. They called this area Jaödeogë’ (Jaonh day ō gent’), Between Two Rivers, the crossroads of the Seneca, Lenni Lenape, Shawnee, and numerous nations who lived before, with and after them.

These Peoples, along with other nations in the Haudenosaunee (Hoe-dee-no-SHOW-nee) Confederacy, stewarded the land of this greater region; and like other First Nations across North America, their spiritual roots are buried deep within Mother Earth. We acknowledge this land and their continued spiritual connection to it as sacred.

We must also recognize the painful destruction of this connection and the injustices perpetrated on Native Communities through broken treaties and colonial occupation, resulting in enslavement, cultural genocide, forced assimilation, and dissolution of their right to independent self-governance.

Through awareness and action, we can write a new history that honors First Peoples’ spiritual connection to the land and combats Indigenous erasure, systemic racism and continued marginalization.
