Peter Gayed Yale University School of Medicine New Haven, CT 06520 Dear Peter, It has come to the attention of the Progress Committee that you have had difficulty completing some elements of the medical school curriculum in a timely manner. While the Yale System encourages students to pursue independent learning, it does not allow for disregard of the requirements. Your advisor, Dr. John Francis, has discussed these requirements with you and together you have made a plan to complete them. The specifics of this plan are: 1. You need to complete the Epidemiology and Public Health course by writing the paper which you and Dr. Shenson agreed you would submit to make up the requirements. This paper is due September 5, 2011. 2. You need to take Step II CK and CS of the USMLE by September 1, 2011. 3. You need to complete UCONN 4 as scheduled on July 8, 2011. The Progress Committee feels strongly that compliance with this plan is essential for you to move forward with the remainder of your studies. If you do not complete these requirements on time, you are at risk of being placed on academic probation. We advise you to meet with Dr. Francis again to discuss how best to accomplish these tasks. Sincerely,
Ronnie A. Rosenthal, M.D. Chair, Progress Committee Yale University School of Medicine cc:
