At Perspective we continue to place the training and development of our people as a priority in order that we achieve our stated goal of building a sustainable and socially-responsible business that is trusted by both our colleagues and clients. Getting this right supports the delivery of our core value that clients come first in everything we do.

This is why we have decided to partner with Agenda Partnership to deliver a series of sessions to our financial planners (including those individuals who are within our Perspective Academy) and our Office Principals.

Our courses are all very interactive. We ask people to focus on the session beforehand through various questionnaires, prereading and video media that we share a week before the sessions. Our coaches encourage discussion, movement, team collaboration and sharing throughout the sessions.

Our team all bring with them anecdotes and experience from their own careers in leadership and have all joined our team from positions in large organisations where they have led large teams.

Duration: 1 day

We define Emotional Intelligence (or EI) as the ability to: Recognise, perceive, use, understand and manage our own emotions and the emotions of others.

When we’re aware of our own and others’ emotions we can drive required behaviours and outcomes in ourselves and in others. EI is important in every interaction with every person, every day.

After research by The Harvard Business School, they determined that EQ (Emotional Quota) counts for twice as much as IQ and technical skills combined in determining who will be successful. A 2003 Harvard Business Review reported that 80% of competencies that differentiate top performers from others are in the domain of Emotional Intelligence.

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

Discuss your EI strengths and development areas

The Power of Influence

Duration: 1 day

As managers and leaders, you are constantly and consistently influencing people around you. Whether it’s helping one of your followers or customers think the idea is theirs, winning them round to your way of thinking, or just helping them do the right thing. Influencing is one of the key skills of successful managers and leaders.

The course helps you to consider and use ‘tried and tested’ influencing techniques that are scientifically proven to have worked. In fact, 100% of people who have attended this course left with at least one technique that they said radically improved their ability to influence.

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

Recognise the difference between influence and manipulation

Get Your Team Thriving

Duration: 1 day

Decades of research prove that highperforming teams have three psychological needs: Autonomy, competence and relatedness. When people feel they have these, they tend to be more productive, as well as feeling happier and healthier.

This 1-day course covers some practical ways to give your followers more autonomy and a better sense of competence and relatedness. This course is a natural follow-up to these previously delivered courses: Leading Change, Building Better Relationships and especially Managing Team Performance.

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

Recognise who owns individual and team performance

Discuss some practical ways to build better autonomy, competence and relatedness

Identify how to approach personal and team motivation

Acknowledge your management style and how it impacts your team members Plan how to create an environment where your team can highly perform

Managing Team Performance

Duration: 1 day

CIPD says: ‘If people are the greatest creators of value in organisations, then good performance management is critical for an organisation’s success. Employees need to understand what’s expected of them, and to achieve those goals they must be managed so that they’re motivated, have the necessary skills, resources and support, and are accountable. Performance management aims to monitor, maintain and improve employee performance in line with an organisation’s objectives. It’s not a single activity, but rather a group of practices that should be approached holistically.’

This 1-day course looks at some of the barriers to Leaders and Managers having performance conversations and why underperformance happens in the first place. This course also helps you to plan your conversation and communicate it clearly to include the consequences of ‘under performance’ continuing, and how the underperformer can be more accountable for their actions and behaviours.

This course gives ‘real-life’ practical skills that can be used during every performance-related conversation you’ll ever have.

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

Recognise how our mindset and internal dialogue affect our conversations with people

Discuss why underperformance happens, and how to overcome it

Prepare, structure and deliver an underperformance conversation, to help your real message land

Excel for Beginners

Our Excel for Beginners programme assumes no knowledge of Excel whatsoever. There will be no assessment/ tests associated with the training - the goal is to be able to coach all candidates to be able to confidently apply the learnings to their business scenarios.

Intermediate Excel Skills

Our intermediate Excel Skills programme assumes that other than totaling up numbers and drawing boxes with Excel, the delegate hasn’t used it for any sort of analysis or insight.

Advanced Excel Skills

We run advanced excel training on a very small group or one-to-one basis. Please contact us to discuss your precise skills needs.

PowerPoint Power User

This 1-day session is designed to really make delegates presentations pop! We cover several features of presentation design, as well as the mechanics of how to use PowerPoint to support delivering amazing presentations.
