YESTERDAY AS TODAY
T
he first hotel of the Schick network was the Hotel Stefanie, once the “Weiße Rose” (White Rose) inn. Since more than 400 years Austrian hospitality has fostered here - therefore the Hotel Stefanie is the oldest hotel of Vienna. In 1870, the greatgrandfather of Dr. Martin Schick acquired the famous hotel, which with its 110 rooms at the time was among the largest in Vienna. The hotel’s bourgeois tradition is honoured today and is also reflected in the four additional hotels that bear the Schick banner. The Hotel Am Parkring has been part of Vienna’s largest private hotel group since 1979; the Hotel Capricorno was added in 1980, Hotel City Central in 1990 and finally the time-honoured Hotel Erzherzog Rainer in 1994.
