The President's Desk December 24, 2022.

Happy Sabbath greetings to the North Bahamas Conference family. Today we pause to celebrate the reason for this season, who is Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Christmas blessings and compliments of this season to each person and every family. We rejoice that Christ was born, that He came to this earth to save you and me, He was successful in His mission and praise God, He is coming back again.

God is always faithful and He has brought us to the final seven (7) days in 2022. When we look back, we know that God was better to us than we were to Him. Our hearts overflow with gratitude.

Welcome to everyone who worship our great God on this blessed Sabbath day. Thank you for accepting the invitation of the Triune God to come into His presence with thanksgiving, and enter His courts with praise. Be thankful unto Him and bless His holy name. We project for reset, refocus, restart for the new year. God wants to give us increase after all He has brought you thru. In your reset, please don’t neglect your prayer life, nor forsake your daily reading of God’s Word, and be a witness, share your faith every day. Make your life count. We are embracing the original time for services, but we bring a new mindset to our worship experiences. You are encouraged to read the Bible thru this year and be faithful to God. Return a faithful tithe and freewill offering and watch God bless you more than you can receive.

Next week Sabbath should be planned to give honor and glory to God. It is the final day of the year. Everyone that can, should be invited, to give praise and thanksgiving for spared life on this final day of 2022. We are planning for District Communion services at the same time. We will welcome the new year, on our knees in prayer. We are pleased to announce that Convention 2023 will be held in person in Grand Bahama (25, 27-28 January) Abaco (22,24-25 February) and. Pastor Carlton Byrd has confirmed for Grand Bahama and Pastor Abraham Jules for Abaco. Kindly note our evangelism goals for the new year. We are grateful to Almighty God for the 131 persons baptized in 2022. We have not promoted the Ingathering program in 2022, but we are agreed for overflow in 2023.

Congratulations to all those who were chosen and have agreed to serve God thru His church in the coming year. Thank you to those who are currently serving. May you always be faithful and blessed. I encourage the new officers to stay focus and avoid distractions. These are the last days for we live in perilous times.

A special thanks to all Elders, Board members and Officers for their commitment to God’s church. Thanks to the members for their faithfulness. We are too few in number, our enemies are too many, our cause too great for us to weaken each other at this time. Sir Winston Churchill.

“And now brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” Acts 20:32

THOUGHT FOR TODAY

As Jesus rested by faith in the father’s care, so we are to rest in the care of our Savior. If the disciples had trusted in Him, they would have been kept in peace. Their fear in the time of danger revealed their unbelief. In their efforts to save themselves, they forgot Jesus; and it was only when, in despair of self-dependence, they turned to Him, that He could give them help. The Desire of Ages, p. 188

FELLOWSHIP

It's important to set aside moments to spend time with each other outside of Worship Service environment.

So on Sunday, December 18, 2022, the ladies of the Eight Mile Rock SDA Church met in the balcony of the church to have one last get together to socialize and fellowship before the ending of 2022.

Sis Patrice Clarke gave the opening prayer. We had a variety of breakfast dishes and drinks provided by some of our best "Chefs" in our church. It was a last minute decision and the ladies rose to the occasion. We thank two of our Knights of Excelsior for bringing us their most famous drinks on the market, bottled water!

We gave out numbers and the two ladies with the winning numbers were Sis Patrice Clarke and Sis Uris Stubbs who both received engraved gifts with the words "Rejoice! Find strength in the Lord.

I thank God for the enduring and abiding friendship of the extraordinary women of the Eight Mile Rock Seventh-day Adventists Church. We had a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious morning. May God bless us all.

WordsFromInspiration

Live the life of faith day by day. Do not become anxious and distressed about the time of trouble, and thus have a time of trouble beforehand. Do not keep thinking, ‘I am afraid I shall not stand in the great testing day.’ You are to live for the present, for this day only. Tomorrow is not yours. Today you are to maintain the victory over self. Today you are to live a life of prayer. Today you are to fight the good fight of faith. Today you are to believe that God blesses you. And as you gain the victory over darkness and unbelief, you will meet the requirements of the Master, and will become a blessing to those around you.”

Ellen G. White, “The Light of the World,” Signs of the Times, October 20, 1887.
