Our Pathfinder Day
As I sit and reflect on our Pathfinders Day, I realized that we did an excellent job. All of the practices , hard work and dedication really payed off. I was so proud of the Adventurers leading out in Sabbath School. They are definitely future Sabbath School Superintendents and Pathfinders Directors. We the Pathfinders led out in the Divine Service. We were able to showcase our leadership skills which were learnt at club meetings. However what impressed me the most was marching in with us all adorned in our “A” Class Uniform. Another impressive moment was The Orion Pathfinders Club Choir rendition of the song Chosen reminding me that we are chosen by God. Then the inspiring message from Pastor Peter Watson encouraged us that we could indeed Change The World and that we our the future of God’s Church.
By: BrandiFinleyBibleConnectionExperience by: Travonya Cooper
My experience with the Bible Connection competition was enlightening to say the least. When I first started studying for the competition, I had no idea what was in store for me. However, I felt confident (or should I say Godfident) in my abilities with the guidance of God. Over the span of four weeks, I studied Revelation along with chapter 29 from The Great Controversy. Upon first glance, the book of Revelation may seem a little too ‘complicated’ to be understood. People tend to focus on the parts of Revelation that outline the punishment coming for those that do not live for God. Their interest is not piqued by the promise of eternity with God, but by the vow of damnation to those who reject him. Yes, Revelation comprises mostly of God’s plan of wraith, but I think it should also be considered a book of hope for those that serve God. Once you are confident in your relationship with God, Revelation should not be frightening. It should inspire you to keep your relationship with God strong. Chapter 29 from the Great Controversy vividly described the scene in heaven in the time leading up to Lucifer’s fall from heaven. It touched on the things that triggered his rebellion, how he coerced other angels into joining his cause and the original birth of sin. Despite the substantial amount of information, I was driven by curiosity to continue studying. Overall, I’m glad that God allowed Revelation to be chosen for this year’s competition. Through studying that particular book, I gained clarity in some of my own personal situations. Even if I had not won a prize, I still would’ve won because everyone’s a winner when studying the word of God!
