The President's Desk May 28 2022 This is the day that the Lord has made: we will rejoice and be glad in it. Happy Sabbath. A warm welcome to everyone. To our visiting friends, guest of honor, and to the members, Happy Sabbath. God bless you in worship today. "“The Father loves His people today as He loves His own Son. Someday it will be our privilege to see Him face to face.” (Manuscript 103, 1903) Pastor Clarke

Congratulations is extended to the Blessed Hope and Shiloh Churches on three (3) precious souls baptized this past Sabbath. Elder Keith Watson preached with the anointing for the first week and Pastor Burrows anchored the second week. There will be a baptism today at the Taino Beach. Please pray for the persons who are on your sick lists and persons who are bereaved. God is in the healing business. He is more willing to hear than we are willing to ask. General Conference session begins next weekend in Missouri. The delegates are Elder Gentry Morris and Pastor Clarke. Please pray for the leading of God’s Holy Spirit. You are encouraged to be faithful in all things. Lasting things are those that are done for Christ. Return a faithful tithe and freewill offering and watch God open heaven’s windows to bless you.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY As Jesus rested by faith in the father’s care, so we are to rest in the care of our Saviour If the disciples had trusted in Him, they would have been kept in peace. Their fear in the time of danger revealed their unbelief. In their efforts to save themselves, the forgot Jesus; and it was only when, in despair of self-dependence, they turned to Him that He could give them help. The Desire of Ages, p. 188

“God has not called me to be successful; He has called me to be faithful.” Mothe Theresa

EVANGELISM

The Word of Hope Gospel Series concludes today at the Shiloh Seventhday Adventist Church. For the past two weeks, the Word of God was preached with power, clarity, and conviction. Evangelist Keith Waston, the first elder for the Shiloh SDA Church, presented the Word each night during the first week. God used him in a special and dynamic way. At the conclusion of the first week, three precious souls were baptised to the honour and glory of God. Pastor Andrew E. Burrows, the pastor for the district, accepted the baton and led out during the second week.

EVANGELISM

The members of both the Shiloh and Blessed Church, and the entire Word of Hope Gospel Series team, are anticipating that God's Holy spirit will once again work during the final meeting of the series. We are thankful for the members of the various churches on Grand Bhama who supported and came out and attended the various meetings. Let us pray that the series will bring in many souls for the kingdom as well as strengthen the faith of each believer.

Congratulations to Officer 4523 Shauntanique Johnson on her graduation from the Police Academy yesterday.

EDUCATION

EDUCATION

Caps off to Mr. Keith Warren Barr, the longest serving principal and administrator of St. Georges High School. Mr. Barr was honored Wednesday past, May 25, 2022, at the St. Georges High School gymnasium. He was called the ‘Jaguar Chief’, for his leadership skills, empathetic qualities, and the many roles he played throughout his tenure as Vice Principal and Principal of that institution. Those qualities were also expressed in tributes done by his friends, former work colleagues, District Superintendent Mr. Ivan Butler, and former Director of Education Mr. Cecil Thompson.

Pastor Danny Clarke, Mr. Hayden Hanna and Mrs. Antonia Scott represented the Freeport Church family with heartfelt tributes. It was evident that the influence of a great principal cannot be erased.

EDUCATION

Mr. Barr was praised for the immeasurable contributions he has made as an educator at Hawksbill High School, Jack Hayward High School, Eight Mile Rock High School, and St. Georges High School. He has since been promoted to District Education Officer. Congratulations Mr. Keith Barr for a job well done.

HEALTH SCREENING

On Sunday the 22nd of May 2022 the Bahamas Society of Ophthalmic Nurses hosted a health screening, in partnership with the Sunrise Seventh-Day Adventist church Health Department. It included pressure and glucose testing with an introductory initiative with special emphasis in eye screening in the Northern region.

HEALTH SCREENING

The Bahamas Society of Ophthalmic Nurses is a nonprofit organization yet in its infantile stages. However, we have chosen to partner with the Seventh-day Adventist church as we have ultimately the same objective in mind which is to empower others to be healthy. In cases where there is a greater challenge, and other intervention is required such as special procedures and surgeries we have began projects to help directly and indirectly.

HEALTH SCREENING

We anticipate more partnering with the Seventh day Adventist church in our upcoming events, in the Northern region.
