EDUCATION

“I say what I mean and I mean what I say” is the title of the book written by former Prime Minister the Rt. Honorable Hubert Alexander Ingraham. Grade ten Hanna had the outstanding privilege to attend Jack Hayward Senior High School where the former Prime Minister and his team talked about his new book focusing on the trials and accomplishments he went through in life and that got him to where he is today. His brief speech on what the book was about impacted each student of grade 10 tremendously! Each student was impressed in their own way and will share exactly what stood out for him/her. 5

EDUCATION

Vittoria Patrick: What really stood out for me was that he said now days we have internet and more accessible things which he didn’t have growing up so things are easier for us. It really helped me to understand that I should use all the accessible things that is out in the world now to reach for all my goals. Reyhan Sears: I’ve learnt that we must do as much as we can while we are here and try our very best to achieve our goals and to work hard for them to have successful life. 5

EDUCATION

Oscar Thomas: I admired the fact that he had such vast accomplishments starting with a humble beginning. Most of his school life his parents didn’t even have the finances to buy him shoes. I am also impressed by the fact that he found a way to read valuable information anywhere he went including the mailboat. If he was able to achieve such a high caliber of success in the poor circumstances in which he was situated, I am sure we as modern-day students have more privileges and it is way easier for us to obtain information, therefore we can accomplish just as much as he did, and even accomplish greater accolades if we work hard, read, and continue to trust in God.

EDUCATION

Charity Hyppolite: The mere fact that he even took the time out to share his life experience with us really stands out to me. He wanted his life experiences to help us as students to grow and one day even become greater than he is. He didn’t fail to show appreciation to the Most High for the great accomplishments he achieved in his lifetime. With his words I will work ten times harder to make God as well as my country proud. Layla Leathen: During my experience at the conference, out of all the points stated by the former Prime Minister, I was most astonished by the fact that we should not take so many things for granted. I remembered being very ungrateful the morning of the conference to my mother, but when I heard about all his trials and tribulations it taught me that I should always be thankful for what I have because there may be others who wish they have what I have. 5

EDUCATION

Sierrah Lighbourne: During my experience I learned that anything is possible with God. I was inspired when he talked about his journey from being a store clerk to being the Bahamas second Prime Minister. This encouraged me to focus more on my studies and to put God first in whatever I do. Shaniah Rolle: I thought it was very impacting and I will take his words wherever I go to make sure I achieve and succeed in life. We really enjoy our experience, listening to all of the life lessons which we know will help us in life, with God by our side. By: Grade 10 Hanna5
