SPARKFORD
PARISH COUNCIL
At the September meeting of the Parish Council, it was reported that since the last meeting the light outside 47, Church Road has undergone maintenance but not half an hour after this was completed, the light was again working erratically - on during the day, off at night The problem has been made worse since a recent storm - the light now flashes on and off periodically, night and day. The clerk is to ask Mr. Thistlewaite, the County Street Lighting Engineer, to have the faults investigated and rectified immediately. The South Somerset District Council has asked that householders who received a short supply of bin bags in the recent delivery contact them and the shortage will be made good. The S.S.D.C. are investigating the complaint that. Green Close was not included in the recent scavenge. Mr. Chappell reported that since the last meeting the problem of children cycling on the pavement of Twines Close has improved and there were no further complaints from other parts of the Parish. The Tree Planting Committee have almost finished their work for this year and Mr. Cluett thanked them for their splendid efforts. Mr. Cluett and Mrs. Cottier were appointed to represent the Parish Council at the Public Inquiry into the A303 improvement proposals to be held at the Sparkford Inn on 30th September. Next meeting:
Tuesday 2nd October.
